Screen Bites: Mysteries, Faepocalypse, and Changing the Future: Grimm, Lost Girl, and Warehouse 13

Spoilers ahead…

Grimm, Friday 9:00 EST, NBC

Now Hank is in the Wesen loop, which had to happen at some point. It would have become too difficult for Nick to effectively do both of his jobs, which do bleed over into one another a lot, without Hank knowing the score. Are you glad he now knows? How do you think this will impact the show?

I find myself a bit confused about Juliet’s problem. Why was the captain/prince trying to make sure Juliet could not remember Nick? She remembers everything else. It seems unlikely that there was concern over her being told about the Wesen, since it was certainly easy enough for Nick to tell Hank, also. What do you think is going on?

And how about Monrosalee? They are so adorable.

We still don’t know what Nick’s mom is up to, but I’m guessing we’ll find out soon.

Grimm got moved back to Fridays a week early to make room for a new show on NBC, and it will be back on 9/28.

Lost Girl, Friday 10:00 EST, SyFy

I finally caught up on the show — one of my favorites — so can now write about it again.

Let’s review what we know: Trick is Bo’s grandfather, Bo killed Nadia at the request of both Nadia and Lauren (it turns out the Garuda was using Nadia to spy on them), the Ash sacrificed himself (I feel kind of guilty for not really liking him much of the time), Ciara was killed defending Bo, and Kenzie strong-armed the Norn to get Dyson’s “love” (or soul, or whatever) back. Which of these events was the most surprising to you? Which are you not as pleased about?

We discovered in the most recent episode that Bo really is the champion, the key to defeating the Garuda. Do you have any guesses about what we will see in the finale? I really hope we don’t get a cliffhanger.

Some of my favorite lines:

The Morrigan calling Bo a “succubitch” was pretty funny.

“Determination to do what is right — that is your real superpower” (Kenzie to Bo).

Warehouse 13, Monday 9:00 EST, SyFy

The last two episodes have been quite good, but I made the mistake of watching the one about Alice and the mirror late at night. Possession creeps me out, plus there is the whole mirror thing.

And what is going on with Lena? Again? The last episode, with the people getting taller, did not refer back to the scene with her in the previous episode. Is the priest character maybe controlling her somehow?

I wonder if we will now have new agent as a regular, or if she will be like H.G. and be recurring. I like the character.

The main storyline of the season, that of the astrolabe, raises some very interesting questions. Artie did what he did to save the Warehouse and his friends in particular, but the whole world was becoming despondent from losing hope. The typical time-travel admonition to not affect the timeline of events at all may not have been the correct call here, and I think most of us would have made the same choice Artie did. I look forward to seeing how this plays out over the season.

How many of you watch Alphas? Would you like to discuss the show here?

  1. with Grimm, it was the spell that was making Juliet forget, the cap/prince could only wake her up w/kiss. I love that show, just got my keychain, lol.

  2. the lady forgot her name was just getting back at Nick and hurt him.

  3. Grimm

I love that Hank knows now! This is going to make it so much better. And funnier. I’m just waiting for the conversation about Adalind! And Monroe and Rosalee. Oh so cute!

I’m confused about Juliet’s memories too. When they showed what was happening in her mind, it seemed like it was showing things happening in reverse and erasing. But apparently it just erased Nick. So was that because of the Captain or because of Adalind?

    Lost Girl

You know, I’m kind of surprised about the way Ciara died. I felt like that whole situation screamed trap and they kept on going.

I love me some Kenzi, but I think some major things are going to happen with her. She still owes that favor to the Morrigan. And that bottle from the Norn’s house spilled on her.

Is it just me or does anybody else get the feeling that, after that family dinner, that Hale is starting to have feelings for Kenzi?

    Warehouse 13

I didn’t think anything was going on with Lena. I think she was putting something in the dark vault and just happened to be in there when Artie started in on the crazy one-man speech. So I think she was just confused and concerned.
I find Brother Adrian’s reasoning so strange. If Artie turns back the astrolabe, then eventually no more world. But I suppose that’s the mind of fanatacism. Still weird though and I feel like he knows somthing more.

Oh and has anybody watched that Warehouse 13, Grand Designs thing? It’s a bunch of 3-5 minute shorts. It shows the team as paper dolls after Pete messes with an artifact. Again.

And I watch Alphas. Not sure of everyone else though.

    • Rae, very true — I had not thought about the whole Adalind episode in relation to Hank learning about everything. Boy, will he be surprised…

I agree — Kenzie will likely be playing an ever bigger role next season. And do think she and Hale do have feelings for each other that go a bit beyond friendship.

I may be not clearly remembering the scene with Lena. Too much time had elapsed between when I watched the episode and when I wrote about it. However, I did have note about her written down. I may have to go back and re-watch the scene.

And I think you’re right, Brother Adrian may well know something we don’t. However, he may just be crazy. :)

I haven’t seen any of the web series, but will have to check it out.
