Contests, Release Parties

Hey everyone! Before we get this release party started, I’d like to thank Rachel and Bitten by Books for inviting me to return! I always have such a great time at these events and can’t wait to see what the day brings. Today, I’m here to talk about my newest release,
What a Werewolf Wants. Even though it’s the third book in the San Francisco Wolf Pack Series, it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone since it revolves around a new hero and heroine in the wolf pack.

When I learned I’d be here for the release party celebrating my new romantic comedy,
The Fix Up, I might have peed myself a little.
My last stop at Bitten by Books promoting Protector for Hire in June was engaging and fun, with more readers than I could shake a stick at (sidenote: why would you want to shake a stick at someone?)
Anyway, since we’re all friends now, may I make a confession? Read More »

Don’t Make Me Hit You with My Pocketbook!
Can I dare say curves are the ish? It could be because I’m a woman of the “thick” persuasion, as men in the south call the curvaceous chicks. Let me tell you, being blessed with the figure of Venus is both a blessing and a curse. *cough* Okay, Venus-ish. Still, as I was saying, a blessing and a curse. For example, I ain’t no salad-eating chick, so when a man takes me out to dinner (now my hubby’s Read More »

Confession: I’m into woo-woo.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to people who know me that I’ve written a series about energy—the energy between people, to be specific. That burst you get when you’ve spent an afternoon with good people, ‘your’ people. The drain from an energy-vampiress boss who feeds on power over others the way I feed on chocolate chips when I’m on deadline. Flares of warning signals that fire off when you meet someone untrustworthy or dangerous. The warm yet jittery excitement of meeting someone who makes you fantasize about what his or her lips taste like. I love that energy.

Hi everyone! Thanks so much to Rachel and Bitten By Books for letting me stop by again. I’m really excited to be here. This time around, I’d like to tell you about my latest book,
Asylum Harbor, a contemporary romance with some suspense and action/adventure thrown in. Devon Brown moves to the remote Shell Island to start her new job as the bartender of the

The excerpt below is from my fifth book,
Lies Ripped Open. I got to say that three years ago when I published my first book,
Crimes Against Magic, I had no idea that I’d be on book five. To be honest, I wasn’t even sure if I’d be doing book two. And four years ago I had no idea I’d ever be published, no matter how much I wanted or worked toward it.

And one becomes two. When I first wrote
The Third Key, I never intended to write a sequel. The book was just an idea I had and wanted to get out. It was supposed to be a standalone YA fantasy and that was that. But then, as is often the case, it wasn’t.

I have a confession to make. A guilty pleasure to admit to… No, not my Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta and Total Divas obsession. Nope, not the fact that I bought the last New Kids on the Block CD.
*cough* And no, not my addiction to all things Emily Delicious…
Nope, my secret is this…

The Knights of Avalon, the four-part erotic PNR/UF series
Starry Knight launches, was born of a simple idea: to write a series incorporating different forms of divination. From that kernel grew the far more complex world of the series. The “knights” of Avalon, the enchanted otherworld isle featured in Arthurian and Celtic legend, were Scottish noblemen who,

I’d like to introduce
Mayhem, pack alpha and front man for the rock band Riot. He’s sexy as hell and ready to claim his mate…if he can find her.
What is it with bad boys that we just can’t get enough of? Tough on the outside with a hidden soft center that we love to melt…on our tongues…mmmm.

Welcome to my second release party of this summer! Today I am happy to be with you to talk about my newest book, which came out yesterday. It’s called
His Father’s Eyes, and it’s the second volume in The Case Files Justis Fearsson, a contemporary urban fantasy that I write for Baen Books under my own name, David B. Coe. (Last month I was here to promote
Dead Man’s Reach, the fourth book in the Thieftaker Chronicles, which I write as D.B. Jackson.) Many thanks to Rachel and the Bitten By Books crew for hosting me again.

Is this the end?
When I wrote the first Shadow Shifter book I had a clear idea of how this story would end. That’s not always the case when an author begins a series, but I had time to really plan how I wanted these feline shifters to grow and what ultimate price they would have to pay for the safety of their kind. While some may say that keeping the shifter secret from the humans and Read More »

Make ‘em Laugh
First, thanks Bitten by Books for letting me hangout today. You guys are awesomeness. I don’t know about you guys, but if you make me laugh, we’re probably going to be best friends for life. I think the world is a really tough place, and sometimes we need a little light-hearted gooberish moments in our life. That’s one of the reasons I decided to make my new book, Baby’s Got Bite, funny. The first book, Take It Like A Vamp, had a lot of humor, and there was potential for even more with this second book. (And before you ask, no you Read More »

Welcome to the first of two launch parties I’ll be having here at Bitten By Books this summer! (The second will be in a couple of weeks, for a release coming out under my real name, David B. Coe.) I want to thank Rachel and Bitten By Books for hosting me again this year. This is my fourth year with an event on the site and I’m really pleased to be back.

The Siren’s Touch is about a particular kind of siren, a rusalka. I hope you’re excited to know exactly what that is!
Perhaps you’ve heard of the opera by Dvořák? No? I hadn’t either—I’m no opera buff. But I learned of it when I began researching this fascinating kind of ghost from Slavic mythology. I stumbled upon the existence of rusalki when I fell in Read More »

The last time I made an appearance on Bitten by Books, it was to promote my genre mashup,
Amish Vampires in Space. I talked about how that book came to be, and a little about the rollercoaster my life became following the book’s release—everything from unexpected mentions by the Washington Post and The Tonight Show, to my publisher being sold and the new owner deciding he didn’t want my book as part of his catalog. (Despite the buzz…and the positive reviews.) I also mentioned that I was trying to figure out what to write next.

As a kid I fancied myself a bit of a tomboy. There’s just myself and my sister in our family, no brothers. So I took it upon myself to fill the void I was positive my father had in his life due to the lack of a boy child. I built ramps to jump my bike, went on motorbike rides with him, and followed him around on weekends asking him a gazillion questions about cars and engines and stuff like that. Plus, I hated going clothes shopping with my mother and sister (l liked clothes, just not the shopping part!). All that aimless wondering through shops. Argh! I’d rather go fishing with dad.

Bloodsucking vampires, psychotic faeries, and a snarky, kick-butt heroine—that sums up the Ivy Granger series in a nice, neat little package. But the world of Ivy Granger isn’t nice and neat. It’s messy.

Hey, guys! I’m super excited to hang out with you classy babes (as well as you not-so-classy babes—we’re in good company, right?)
It’s release day for my new romantic comedy, Protector for Hire, and I’m stoked for readers to get their hands on this funny, sexy tale of a woman forced to hide out in the Montana wilderness with a hot, reclusive stranger as her bodyguard.

Once with a Cowboy Now with Bacon Lube
For quite awhile, I’ve wanted to do a story in honor of Loving Day. When I decided to put together a collection to celebrate the unofficial holiday I got my chance. I asked some author friends (Amie Stuart, Melissa Blue and J. Hali Steele) to write themed books to celebrate it and a collection Read More »
