Watchers, please be aware that there will be spoilers here. If you are behind on a show, you should probably skip that section in the column.
Once Upon a Time, Sunday 8:00 EST, ABC
Back after a week off, the show picked up right where it left off (as it always does) with Aurora and Henry waking up in their respective places, trying to make those with them understand what they have just seen. Of course we know that when David/Charming volunteers for a sleeping curse that it will not end well.
Though I do not trust Hook, I must say I was surprised by the removing of the heart incident. And how creepy is that? Poor Aurora. I like the character, so I hope she somehow manages to survive. What do you think her chances are?
I do like Regina’s efforts to become different, even if it is only for Henry’s sake. Do you believe she’s sincere? We do now have a threat worse than her on its way to Storybrooke, which the show needed.
Next week will be the winter finale, until the show returns in January. Are there any predictions about what will happen in that episode?
Grimm, Friday 9:00 EST, NBC
At the beginning of the episode Nick found out that Juliet is interested in another man, and by the end he found out who that man is. Of course, we have to wait until January to discover what Nick does, and how much he will learn right away regarding Renard’s status as a royal, etc.
Adalind wants the key that Nick has been hiding, and uses all types of methods to get it. Does anyone even remember if we have been told what the key opens? I honestly can’t remember.
Unfortunately, now someone else (Renard) knows where the trailer is. I will say right now that if anything bad happens to all of those books and weapons I will be very unhappy.
Favorite quote, from Monroe, of course: “The dark does have its bright side.”
However, my favorite moment: after the last scene, a cliffhanger, we see, “to be continued. Sorry.” I loved that!
What did you think of this fall finale episode? What do you think we can expect when the show returns?
The Vampire Diaries, Thursday 8:00 EST, The CW
Elena unfortunately suffers ill-effects from killing the hunter, seeing him in hallucinations where he, or someone else, encourages her to take her own life. When the gang learns the truth about how to cure the curse Elena suffers, they do something that frankly I found rather shocking. Poor Chris. You’d think they could have found some other deserving bad vampire to sacrifice instead of the friend of a friend. That really bothered me, but I imagine the act was supposed to drive home the idea of how high the stakes are getting on the show. Did this bother anyone else?
Overall plot-wise, though, the biggest event has to be that Stefan decides that the new Elena is a bit too dark for him, and a bit too attached to Damon. Do you think they will stay broken up? I am curious how this will be handled.
What do you think of the season so far?
Mockingbird Lane, NBC
I finally got around to watching this pilot episode, and while I did appreciate some of the jokes and the homages to the original, the show kind of left me cold. I’m not even really sure why, and I am unable to put my finger on it exactly. I was a big fan of the The Munsters and truly hoped I would enjoy this remake. If you watched it, what did you think?
Bitten by Books
Loved that too! I pointed to “To be continued. Sorry” to my hubby. I believe it is there way to amp up the anticipation this January.
Really shows Monroe’s friendship to Nick that he was not withholding the information. That he tried to get ahold of Nick to let him know! That is a very good friend. Though I am worried about Monroe with Nick staying with him.. The threats he’d undergo.
late on watching Once Upon a Time… I really cannot say.
Gotta admit, I was disappointed in the Munster remake as well. It was a bit blah.
Finally got caught up on OUAT and Grimm. I hope that Regina has turned over a new leaf. If Mr Gold can why shouldn’t she for Henry’s sake. Since we all have Cora for the role of wicked witch, it would be awesome to see Regina take everything she has learned to defeat her mother.
As for Grimm, just keeps getting better and better. Just loved where Monroe taught the Halloween meanies some manners!
Once again I was able to see OUAT and I am making more sense of it seeing a few in order, but I still feel I missed something huge with Regina trying to be nice and all. I never heard about Mockingbird Lane until right now. I still love the Munsters and it would be wonderful for a new gen to love them too. Unfortunately remakes rarely measure up especially recently.
I managed to watch Once Upon a Time and the heart incident surprised me too. I wonder what Hook has up his sleeves!
I am behind!! The kids and I missed this past episode of OUAT, should watch tonight. As for VD, well I have them on record, but can only watch when im alone, and that’s like… never.
Happy Paranormal TV watching!
Grimm
-The “sorry” at the end was the best part! I feel all shows should apologize like that. They so know what they’re doing when the cut us off!
I was trying to remember what the key opens. All I remember is theat each section creates a map to a place that the ROyals want to get to. But that’s all I remember about that.
I’m wondering if now that Nick knows Renard is the other man, is it going to cloud his mind from making the other connections of who he is. Whatever happens I do love this show!
Once Upon a Time
-Yeah, I was shocked at Hook taking Aurora’s heart. I’m not exactly sure what he’s playing at. I don’t know if he’s throwing in with one or the other. Or just doing anything for himself.
As for Regina, I think showing her in all the flashbacks before she used magic, I think they’re trying to show that she is sincere now. And that it was her use of magic that corrupted her.
For anything upcoming, considering how the show pushed forward with the ending of he first season, I expect Snow and Emma will be getting back to Storybrook sooner that later. I just don’t know if Aurora and Mulan will go too.
-And I did watch Mockingbird Lane. I think what is throwing people off is that the Musters was a straight comedy and this new show is more of a drama with a little comedy and dark comedy.
The funniest part was the family convincing the son that everywhere he went there were baby bear attacks instead of telling him he was a werewolf. That was hilarious!
But as a whole, it was okay. Being the first episode I try to give more leeway. But we’ll see what happens when it comes back on. Whenever that is.
I need to catch up on the Grimm series. And didn’t know they are remaking the munsters. I hate that. they normally don’t do remakes justice.
I really need to get caught up on VD. I did not know they were remaking the Munsters, I used to love watching old reruns of that show.
I’ll have to check out Once Upon a Time sometime. I’ve read some good reviews and the show seems interesting.
