Greetings, Watchers. *This time we will discuss Lost Girl, up through the episode “Waves” that aired on SyFy on 3/17 (the column will always follow the US viewing schedule) and Supernatural up through the “Blade Runners” episode which aired 3/18. New episodes of both shows may air before you see the column and comment, so please do not give any spoilers at all beyond the episodes I am writing about here.*
Lost Girl, Monday 10:00 EST, SyFy
A lot has happened over these ten episodes of season four, and it’s hard to believe that there are only three more.
We now have a clearer picture of what happened on the train, and how Bo got there. Of course, we only have bits and pieces of Rainer, and we likely should take a lot of that with a grain of salt. I do like the way we have been piecing the story together from different points of view and memories from the characters.
Speaking of which, who else was creeped out by Mean/Evil Trick? Yikes!
One thing keeps bothering me: when we discover that Lauren was taken in by the Dark, she seems to be more or less walking away from Bo. Then, the next time we see her, she is back on Team Bo, seemingly in the running for significant other status. I feel as though I missed something here. Is anyone else confused by this?
Though Bo seems to have distanced herself from her comrades a bit, they seem to be drawing together more. I find this dynamic very interesting. What do you think of it?
What have been your favorite scenes so far from this season?
In case you haven’t heard the good news, the show will return for season five.
Supernatural, Tuesday 9:00 EST, The CW
The brothers have gone through an awful lot this season, in regards to their personal relationship. It was a pretty shocking moment when Sam stated that no, he wouldn’t risk the greater good to save Dean. Aside from wondering if it is indeed true, if put to the test, the fact that Sam believes he wouldn’t has terribly hurt Dean. I typically don’t care for the overused plot device of keeping them at odds for several episodes, but I do admit to being intrigued by this situation. What do you think?
I have also enjoyed seeing more of Crowley this season, especially with he and the guys working together. I wish we were seeing more of Cas, as well.
What have been your favorite scenes from the last few episodes?
Who have been your top three favorite villains in the series so far?
Happy viewing!

Great news that there will be a season 5. Wow! Hard to believe that it’s already been 4 years of Bo, Kenzi, and Dyson. My fav episode was Groundhog Day. Loved how Kenzi and Hale kept trying to get together. Tamsin has fast become a fav of mine this season as she growing back into maturity.
Lisa, I agree-I am enjoying Tamsin more, also. It’s nice to see her without that snotty aspect she had last season.
Only been catching ‘Lost Girl’ reruns sporadically, but it’s been a really good show from what I have seen. Just hard to follow without keeping pace through each season.
As for ‘Supernatural’, it’s my favorite show right now with ‘Fringe’ long gone. I believe the “I wouldn’t save you” declaration is the proverbial gun on the mantelpiece for this season, and we’re going to see it put to the test as either a lead-up to the season finale or as the cliffhanger ending itself.
A very good point regarding Supernatural, Fox-it does seem as though they would not leave something like that hanging.
I do think the dynamic between Lauren and Dyson is weird. Sure competitors could put aside their differences for a common goal, but they are just too buddy-buddy. Usually in that type of situation there would be at least occasional tense moments or back-and-forth jabs, undermining, something!
Bethany, I actually am enjoying the new dynamic between Dyson and Lauren. I feel as though they needed to change it up a bit.
It is a welcome surprise to hear that more LOST GIRL is coming, since this season looked like it was moving toward some sort of endgame. I agree with Bethany C that the Lauren/Dyson interactions feel strange, although to me they don’t even seem all that cordial, just kind of uneasy with each other and the situation. Something to keep an eye on…
I am SO behind on Lost Girl but am relieved to hear there will be more episodes! I LOVE the ones I have seen. One of my favorite genre shows out there.
Much like Rachel I am SO behind on Lost Girl right now & it is because “an evil book review site empress has kept me from tv.” At least she is an empress ya’ll
J/K- I really am behind though. I’ll have to do a binge watch.
I think I am going to start Supernatural again- I stopped watching somewhere around season 3 or 4 but since we got rid of cable- I am a netflix/amazon/hulu junkie & just watch seasons of things now.
so much information I really love your blog I just found it tonight
I’m still on Season 7 in Supernatural, so please NO SPOILERS!! C:
Sorry, Miky-the column discusses the current season, which is 9. You may just need to avert your eyes from the Supernatural section.
I don’t really watch any of these shows. I catch a couple minutes here and there, but i’m not a big tv watcher.
Lost girl
I am waaaaay behind on lost girl. I really need to get caught up.
LOST GIRL lost me. The hubby and I thought it had a lot of promise but did not follow through. But hey, that is just us.
As for SUPERNATURAL I had to make a choice….So many shows on tuesday and our stinking box will only allow two movies DVRing at once. And of course I believe one thing is my husband’s show. He’ll throw a tantrum and I love Rizzoli and Isles. Maybe when it gets on Netflix I’ll catch up
I’m not much of a TV watcher, but I’ll have to check out this series next time it’s on.
So excited for Season 5 of Lost Girl.. I don’t know about Lauren, I have always been a Team Dyson girl for Bo, I think he can keep up with her Fae-wise and I just plain like to stare at him. I am excited about Hal & Kenzi though!
I have never followed Supernatural - I was following Lost Girl but I fell behind and haven’t been able to catch up so I’m thinking that this summer - when there isn’t much on tv that I will get it from NetFlix and start all over…sigh..I seem to have to do this a lot lately because of being too busy to watch my fave shows…I’m even behind on Bitten which just started this year…lol
I’ve been wondering about the whole Lauren think too - I have to say, she’s my least favorite character on Lost Girl. My favorite scene lately is when Kenzi tried to write in Trick’s book by finger painting with his blood. I don’t watch Supernatural, so I can’t comment on that show.
I desperately need to play catch up on Supernatural. Loving Lost Girl though and this season definately had a lot of surprises. So glad there will be another season.
