Maybe it’s because I sort of stick to what I like, but I’m not noticing any overriding trends thus far. I chose m/m (since I’m a devotee, and there are new releases constantly), YA (since it seems to influence pop culture more than it used to), shapeshifters (which recur in each genre I read), and PNR.
I chose the three that seem to encompass what I’ve seen on bookshelves, blogs, FB posts.
Urban Fantasy b/c that would include Steampunk, Romance b/c of the proliferation of the aforementioned, and Paranormal romance inclusive of al shifters, vampires, weres, dragons etc…
I picked Billionaire (50 Shades of Grey) Werewolves (Bitten to TV series), Historical Romances (The Outlander Series) and Horror (Zoo and The Strain both mini series on TV from the books). After I voted, I realized that a few Young adult series have become popular after being brought to the big screen e.g The Maze runner and Divergent
Werebears, any shifters, billionaires, Menages, and Paranormal romance.
Based on titles and summaries I’ve noticed, I chose Billionaire_____, Romance, Paranormal Romance, and Werewolves.
I’ve noticed much more Steampunk, Erotica (thanks to 59 Shades) and New Adult on the shelves.
Me, I’m still pretty much Paranormals -romance, YA , horror- whatever the sub genre
don’t know if it’s just the emails I’ve been getting or what, but seems like an awful lot of “stepbrother” books particularly in new adult. personally don’t get the appeal but seems like I get an email listing new or sales books with at least one of them a couple times a week. Serials also seem to becoming increasing common.
I picked zombies and dystopian. They are everywhere. My favorites, so Yay!
i really don’t like teh genre but i saw a lot of m/m being released lately
for those i love: more urban fantasy, shifter and especially quite a few dragons ones
I think it’s romantic suspense.
From what I noticed, it’s even more YA and dystopian, with an increase in sci-fi, including sci-fi romances.
I have noticed a lot of Dystopian, Urban Fantasy, and New Adult books being released recently.
Paranormal, billionaire, erotica seem to be very popular lately.
So I read that whole thing wrong & voted that way…
But, I have noticed more YA, more dystopian, and billionaire “whatever” lately.
I’ve seen a lot of werebear and dragon shifter books lately.
I chose paranormal romance, vampires, shifters of any kind, historical romance, and fae because every time I walk into a bookstore those seem to be the books highlighted and front and center the most. Also I see them advertised more all over the place than any other type.
I got a couple. Interesting to see what others have chosen.
