Bitten by Books
I save books. I collect books. I love books. I have shelves and shelves and piles and piles of books.
I usually donate any books I don’t want to keep to the local library. They sell the donated books to raise money for the library.
I save, collect and re-read the books
I keep and reread the ones I really like or can’t part with otherwise, I share them with friends or donate them to the local library
I save most of my books but do lend out a few. If I didn’t love it I may be tempted to take it to half price books :).
Depends on the book. I save/re-read some. Others I have passed on to friends. Sell and/or donate the rest. If I didn’t do the last, I would wind up on an episode of hoarders.
I save books from my favourite authors to reread, the others I donate to the library or hospitals for people to enjoy.
I keep most of the books I buy cause they are in sets and some of my favorite authors that have printed books.
The ones I enjoy and goes with collections, I save.
I lend out some…
And the ones I do not wish to keep, that are meh to me, I always make sure to find someone who either likes the author or books…
If I’ve bought the book in print then it is already a keeper for me,now I’ve won a couple of books I didn’t care for so I donated them to my local library book sale.
I will either trade them on PaperBackSwap.com or donate them to my local library. We’ve downsized, so I don’t keep physical books anymore
I occasionally save books (often if they are autographed,) and occasionally sell them, but mostly I ‘other’- donate them to my local library.
I read and save them
I will donate them to our local library. I save the ones that I really like.
I also save my books. Some I have donated to some worthy causes.
I checked Save/Collect/Reread/other. I’ll save the ones I know I will reread, or perhaps there is some reason that I just really want to save it. Perhaps an autograph I really want, or keep a series together. Otherwise, donate them.
Some books I keep. If they’re brand new, and I’m not going to keep them, I check our local library first… to see if they could use them. They appreciate donations. I can even donate ARCs as The Friends of the Library puts them in their charity book sale to benefit the library. Normally, ARCs can’t be sold, but I’ve been told that they can be sold for charity. I also patronize our local bookstore in town. They sell new and used books and IF the library doesn’t need them, I’ll trade them in at that bookstore. They, of course, cannot take ARCs - that’s why I was so thrilled to find that ARCs can be used to benefit the library.
If I love the book and I know that I will read it again or if it’s by one of my favorite authors, I keep it. Otherwise, I pass them along to family, friends or my local library. Rarely, I’ll trade one at my library’s book swap rack.
I mostly save and re-read. I plan on spending my retirement reading my books, since Í haven’t had much time lately to enjoy them!!
I almost never reread a book - who has the time with so many out there still yet unread so 1) If appropriate I pass them on to my daughter to use in her classroom reading library or 2) trade them on PBS or BM
non-keepers are either given to fellow readers who’ll enjoy the book or donated to the library or other organization for fundraising
If I love it or think I’ll need it for reference, I keep it. Otherwise I sell it, or donate it to a book drive or library.
I only have a few which are part of a series that isn’t completely digital which is very annoying…. book one is digital and so is the rest but books 2 -4 aren’t digital. I have a couple other series were this is the case as well and have been holding out on buying them,,,
I keep only the very best that I intend to re-read and put the rest on BookMooch and two other bookswap sites. Most of them are taken, but if a book still remains unmooched after a year or two, I either donate it to my local library, unless it’s in poor condition, then I throw it into paper recycling bin.
This reminds me, it’s time to cull my to-be-given-away books.
I keep the authors I follow … (One bedroom is my library.). Those I read but don’t keep, I do Nate to our library. They take what they want and sell the rest! It’s s win-win for us all!!
Sometimes I give them to my local library…they then give them away. Frequently I put them in a box at the curb with a sign that says free. Almost always they are gone by late afternoon (box and all).
I usually save/collect them. I will re-read at a later date. Since my mother and I like the same genre of books, I lend or give them to her.
I love books especially those that are signed by the author. I collect, re-read, and lend my books to friends and family.
I save some, 20%, and donate the rest to the local Friends of the Library. They have booksales; the money goes to buy needed items for the library.
These days the amount is down as I read on my Kindle, both books and aggregated articles on Instapaper and Amazon’s “Send to Kindle” app.
I save/collect and re-read my paperback books.
I usually save and reread them all later
I like to save my books that I read and I try to collect all the books in a series.
I keep em
I have a about a few hundred books I keep by my favorite authors some are signed editions. Periodically I will go thru my books and give away to local libraries and to friends. I would like a good place to have my books go to after I am gone especially since my children would probably just trash the books. I want to pass the pleasure of these books on to someone would enjoy and continue
sometimes donate them
I collect and save and share. If I didn’t like the book I give it away
I either keep them for my library for anyone to borrow or donate them to a multi generational center who used them for fundraisers.
I re-read them.
save my keepers, sell those that I’ll never reread or trade them one.
I love books! I always keep my books after I’ve read them, I have a few bookcases for all my books. Sometimes I reread them, depends how much I enjoyed the book.
1. Save/Collect
2.Re-Read
3. Sell only the ones I don’t want to keep or had got two of them and only need one of them.
I pass them on to my Mom
I keep most of them. Love books in the house
