Gail Carriger and Colleen Gleason! I’m listening to the Clockwork Scarab now and loving it!
Only voted on two because the rest I cannot pick one over the other
Meljean Brook’s Iron Seas Series is how I cut my teeth on the Steampunk genre. The author and several others suggested Delilah S. Dawson to me and LOVED it.
I like Suzanne Lazear’s series that started with Innocent Darkness.
Loved, loved, loved Delilah Dawson’s Blud series as well as Zoe Archer’s Blades of the Rose, and I am working my way through Karina Cooper’s St. Croix Chronicles.
I haven’t read a lot of #steampunk, but I did enjoy Katie MacAlister’s Steamed and the few books in Cassandra Clare’s series I had. I put other because I want to try more of this genre out and watching for new recommendations in addition to these!
My two favorite steampunk series would be Bec McMaster’s London Steampunk series and Meljean Brook’s Iron Seas series. I have books by Lynn Viehl and Gail Carringer but haven’t finished any of those books yet.
I would add Kristen Callihan’s Darkest London series to that list, as well as Kate Locke’s Immortal Empire.
Lindsay Buroker’s The Emperor’s Edge series is by far my favourite steampunk series. The development and growth of her characters over the length of the series is super.
The best I’ve read is the Stoker & Holmes series by Colleen Gleason. Absolutely fantastic!!!
I LOVE Colleen Gleason’s books. Not just the Stoker and Holmes series but others too. Her writing style simply speaks to me. I am excited to add these other books to my “To Read” list though. Just can’t get enough good books.
The best book from the polling list is Colleen Gleason. Her Stoker & Holmes series is not just for young adults but for all. Colleen is a great writer who draws you into the book within the first chapter. Her books always hit the ground running. I highly recommend that you not only check out her Stoker & Holmes series but try her other books as well.
I love Dreamspinner Press’s m/m STEAMED UP anthology (very consistent all the way through, which you don’t always see in anthos, and nicely varied in styles), with Cleis Press’s STEAMLUST a strong second (my favorite there is Lisabet Sarai’s “Green Cheese” short).
My current favourite is a new series by Viola Carr. The first book is The Diabolical Miss Hyde, it’s kind of Steampunk forensics with an interesting dose of romance.
I voted for ‘other’- cause I don’t really read steampunk. I just wanted to participate.
Bec McMaster’s London Steampunk series (even better in audio *wink wink*) and Kristin Callihan’s Darkest London series.
Gail Carriger - Parasol Protectorate , Cassandra Clare - The Infernal Devices Series and Kady Kross - Steampunk Chronicles get my votes
Beth Macmaster. she’s the one that got hooked on the genre
I’m not really into steampunk, but I like The Infernal Devices Series.
I like Katie Macalister although steampunk isn’t a genre I favor…
One of my favourites is Gaslight Chronicles by Cindy Spencer Pape.
Kate Cross - Clockwork Agents Series
The Spiritwalker Trilogy by Kate Elliott
Obsidian Eyes by A.W. Exley
I chose Other in the poll because I’ve only ever read one Steampunck book - Armoured Hearts by Pauleen Creeden.
Since I have not read much steampunk, I only voted for the Iron Seas series by Meljean Brooks.
Too many to list!!
