Welcome to the poll of the week!! Polling runs through Sunday, June 15th. FIRST VOTE on the bottom RIGHT HAND SIDE of the site then stop here to tell us “Favorite Mixed Magic/Creature Series for Round ONE“. and why you chose your answers. The only VOTES that count are the ones on the actual poll not the comments! This is a special poll round for the first of three rounds. There will be 25 series for round one, 25 round for round two and 23 for round three. We will have a final round in week four to determine who is the winner from the top FIVE of rounds one through three.
We took the READER nominations from last week, verified them as mixed magic/creatures series, then put into a spreadsheet, sorted alphabetically by series name and then started at the top of the list for this round.
PLEASE NOTE: We can’t add every mixed magic/creatures series out there or this would be the only poll we would have on the site ever again. 
There are HUNDREDS of fantastic series out there now. Thank you for understanding and remember this is for FUN, it isn’t for a prize or prestige.

Deacon Chalk series, Artemis Fowl and Harry Potter gets my votes
I voted for the Harry Potter series and also the Alpha and Omega series – both were so good!
Dark Hunter Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon sadly b/c she is the only one Ive read
I have just started the Dark Hunter Series and i am loving it. I am only on book 2 but cannot put it down. I voted for Black Jewels as it is unique and has so many books to read!! Also Alpha and Omega by Patricia Briggs who does not love a wolf pack that adopts a Coyote!! You have to love Mercy Thomson series she wrote!! You should try the Black Dagger Series or the Anita Blake Series if you loved Dark Hunter. Similar but each series Unique of their own worlds!!! I have read all 22 books of the Anita Blake Series!! Happy Reading!!
Of those on the side bar I’d only pick Charley Davidson. But Wraith Seminus (Ione’s demonica) and Leila (Frost’s night prince) would be my picks.
Oh, man, hard choices! I went with Harry Potter, Artemis Fowl and BDB.
I love the Alpha and Omega series by Patricia Briggs. I am currently enjoying the Charley Davidson Series by Darynda Jones (on book 4). So those are my two choices.
So many great choices, it was hard to pick just three. I went with Black Dagger Brotherhood, Dark Hunter, and the Alpha and Omega series. Those are on my must read now list.
Can’t believe I haven’t really read any of these…I’d pick Tara Lain’s Aloysius Tales, but I am starting Black Dagger Brotherhood soon!
Daughter of Smoke and Bone series by Laini Taylor. Also the Mageri series by Dannika Dark.
I voted Allie Beckstrom and Dark Hunter mostly because a few of my favorites weren’t on the list and they were two great ones. I would have included Richelle Mead’s Dark Swan series, the Iron Druid series by Kevin Hearne, and if it’d been Mercy Thompson instead of Alpha and Omega I’d have voted for it.
Alpha and Omega and Mercy Thomson parallel eachother. If you read Mercy you really should read Alpha and Omega. Be sure to start with the Anthology : On the Prowl: as this is a short story of how Alpha and Omega began. I had already started to read Mercy Thomson and checked on the authors website and found the Alpha and Omega. They complete eachother totally. In Mercy they mention or have many things that happen in the Alpha and Omega series. To better understand Mercy and where she comes from you should read Alpha and omega!!
I voted 1. Dark Hunter Series 2. Fever Series 3. Alex Craft Series
So many great choices! I voted for the All Souls series, the Dark Hunter series, and the Black Dagger Brotherhood.
I voted for the House of Commare series. I’ve read a few of the others, and while I like them, couldn’t vote for them as favorites. I’m betting some of my favorites will pop up in the next 2 rounds.
I picked the Fever series because you get great male and female characters to dwell on. I started the series in the middle and worked my way backward.
I voted Sk’s Dark Hunters, Harry Potter, and Patricia Brigg’s alpha and omega. Love all of these
Charley Davidson, Fever, & Harry Potter followed very closely by Downside Ghosts. What I learned for the nomination round was that I should start The Hidden series though…
House of Comarre series. Always thought it had a twist of originality and I loved the characters.
Harry Potter, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Anita Blake are my choices, but so mamy other good choices to pick from.
Fever Series series by Karen Marie Moning, Artemis Fowl and Harry Potter gets my votes
I LOVE that the Black Jewels series is a choice! That is one of my all-time favorite series of books of any type.

I voted for Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter Series, J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood, and Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series not necessarily in that order. Accept for the Ansling Gray series which I really like I was not familiar with the rest. Which means I have a lot to investigate.

Aisling Grey / Alpha & Omega / Broken Heart… but I also lovelovelove Anita Blake, Artemis Fowl, Bloodlines, Cassie Palmer, Charley Davidson, Dark Hunter, Dark Legacy, and Georgia Kincaid; and have ALL the books. Not to mention the series that I have some of the books for and love too…
I love the Hidden Series by Colleen Vanderlinden!
Now you all have to give Alexa O’Brien Huntress Series, by Trina M Lee. A chance, She is an awesome writer and her series is unlike any other series I’ve read. I love when a book keeps me captivated that I can’t stop reading I literally can’t put my kindle down.
I went the dark hunter series but would have chosen the dragon lords by Michelle pillow also.
To be hints, I voted for Harry Potter because it is the only full series on the list I’ve read. I’ve other work by Sherilyn Kenyon so I know she writes well. My third choice was Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. I chose this because several of my students like the series.

Looks like I’m not the only one in the Rowling camp. For me, I voted for her simply because her series is the one that I read in its entirety, and despite what little hiccups it had was really enjoyable.
I love the Dark Hunter Series because there is a man for every type of woman in that series!!
