About The Book:
“From sensitivity to sensuality… with the vampire who chills her blood.

Cyn can sense undead presence from a touch, from the feel of the air. Her gift leads her mercenary band of hunters on the trail of a monster who’s killed two women in New York—to the being Cyn least wants to set eyes on again: the Hungarian vampire, Bela.

Now the iconic violinist with a local rock band, Bela seems less interested in proving his innocence—if, indeed, he is innocent—than in seducing Cyn—no easy task when the very presence of vampires sickens her. Plus Cyn wants revenge for the murdered women, and for her partner Rudy who lies in hospital, critically injured.

But neither Cyn’s gifts, nor the killer she pursues, are exactly what they seem. Allying with Bela might be a lethal mistake, but as everyone she loves comes under attack, Cyn finally learns to trust her instincts, and discovers much more than the intense physical pleasures behind her chills.”

Blood Chills Book Excerpt:

“As she approached the playground where they’d found Rudy, it came to her in a sudden rush that the vampire was only minutes, not hours ahead of her. This feeling was too strong, chilling her bones, sickening her stomach. The others must have missed him. He was here.

She gripped the stake, and now that battle was at hand, she could drive the sickness back, concentrate on survival.

Well, they didn’t need to kill him in the bar. On the whole, here in the darkness was best. He could be cornered here too. With every nerve prickling, she got out her phone again. She couldn’t risk him overhearing—vampire hearing was more powerful than a dog’s, and she was almost sure he was watching her. Playing with her.

She texted all three of them: Playground now. But before she could press Send, something whooshed past her and she had to drop the phone in favor of a second stake as she spun and leapt after the shadow, stakes plunging one after the other.

Both wrists jarred, and she found herself staring into the face of the vampire Béla. He shook his head, almost like a parent discouraging his child from some folly. Since he hadn’t grabbed her hands, merely blocked her lower arms before the stakes could reach him, she came at him from below this time. Her stakes whizzed through air only, and she had to spin to find him again. He stood perfectly still, just a foot behind her. She sprang, feinted with the left stake, stabbed down with the right, which again he blocked before defending against the left, which she’d already brought back into play.

“Not fighting back,” he pointed out. “Mean anything?”

“No,” Cyn replied and did her best to keep him guessing in a fast flurry of thrusts. Although her arms ached from the bruising contact with his, she kept up the desperate hail as long as she could—after all, just one might get past his contemptuous guard—and then, in desperation, she swiped her leg hard across his and actually brought him down.

There was no time to celebrate such a minor victory. She threw herself after him, stake raised for the plunge. But the world inverted, dizzying her, and, suddenly underneath him, she stared into his hard, glittering eyes. They almost looked annoyed.

She blinked, for it seemed a very human expression. But there was nothing human about the strength that held both her hands, still clutching their stakes, in one of his on the ground above her head. She was totally, utterly helpless.

“You can’t kill me,” Béla said flatly, confirming what was already apparent. “And I choose not to kill you.”

“Why?” she demanded, heaving in useless panic against the weight of the body pinning her to the ground.

He actually smiled, and even in the darkness, she saw his eyes gleam. “Why?” he said softly. “For one thing, you wouldn’t wriggle under me like that if you were dead.”

Heat surged through her. His hard body bore down on her breasts and hips, and she could feel his fast-growing erection against her thigh. Panic of a different kind deprived her of breath, forced her to frozen stillness.

He moved instead, giving one faint, almost lazy thrust against her hips, jangling her nerves, terrifying her. And yet it wasn’t unpleasant. It wasn’t unpleasant at all. “Go on. Do it again,” he suggested.

“Fuck off,” she spat.

“Don’t tempt me.” He lowered his head, nostrils flaring as if to take in her scent. The scent of her blood. “On second thought, do.” His husky voice vibrated through her, making her shudder, which only emphasized the lean hardness of the body pressing down on her. His free hand touched her throat, tracing a line downward, inside the collar of her jacket. Her vein. The sight seemed to mesmerize him. “Cyn,” he murmured. “Beautiful Cyn.”

Or did he mean sin? She suspected the ambiguity was deliberate, that it amused him. “They know,” she gasped out. “They all know it’s you. You’ll have every hunter, official and unofficial, after you if you kill me. Hell, even Saloman will probably be pissed off.”

“Threats don’t work,” he said. “You could try distracting me with sex.”

  7. Hi Raonaid!

Yes, the purple is gorgeous, isn’t it? The very talented Kim Killion has designed all the Blood Hunters covers - she’s done an amazing job of continuing the elegance and the feel of the Awakened by Blood trilogy, while making them new and fresh.
