Welcome to the poll of the week!! Since the polls were such a big hit last month for our Birthday Bash, we are going to do it weekly. Each week we will have a new poll for you to vote in. There will be primaries over the weekends for the most part. Though if time is pressing for me or there is some other nefarious reason, I reserve the right to pick the topic for the week. Since I was gone last weekend, I am going to take the number two category from the previous paranormal primaries of Sidekicks for this week’s poll and contest.
This is our official POLL post. Polling runs through Friday 6/5/09 at 11:59 pm PDT. You can come here to tell us why you love your sidekick and who you think should win. Comment as MUCH as you like. This week’s contest entrant will win some of the amazing author swag we have been giving out all month. Oh man, it was almost hard to pick, because a lot of my series are up there. But Sherrilyn Kenyon always gets my vote. And Simi? No contest! I just love Simi. I dress up as her every time I go to a convention
I voted for Simi, but it was tough between her and LKH’s Jason. I adore them both for different reasons.

While I love Jenks, Jim, and Fluff and Puff, there is only one choice for me. The Simi by a mile, lol. She is totally me, or at least who I would be if I was a demon with no inhibitions, lol.

Maybe she’ll share her Akri’s plastic with me and we can buy a new poll for the boys. *giggles* Or at least spend enough at QVC to forget our guilt.
Simi, Simi and more Simi…just can’t get enough of Simi. Not only does she rock it, but she kicks butt better than most of the Darkhunters, and then eats the butt covered in BBQ sauce. She has a tender heart, way cool outrageous wings and great fashion sense! And dang, she sleeps on the chest of one of the hotttttest male heroes around.
Gotta be, hands down, The Simi! Hey, I dressed up as her last Halloween and enjoyed myself! She is simply awesome.
Though I do love Jenks too… And I’m liking Jace more than Marc in Rachel Vincent’s book (which I’m currently reading)

Gotta go with Jim, he is in dog form and in true doggy fashion has won me over with his sick sense of humor and his utter lack of modesty. The fact that he is shaggy and drools does not bother me…..
I’m going with Jim too! He manages to steal every scene that he’s in with his
unabashed humor and confidence. I really hope someday Jim gets his own story!

This is a tough one. Jenks attributes alot to the business. Jim and Pirate are just fun. But I have to go with Simi as my favorite. I would love to wrap myself around Ash, and I do love my QVC and sparklies.

Yikes. Another tough one. I almost tossed a coin (or four) for this one, but I ended up going with Bob. Even when I want to throttle Harry (which is often) and put the book down, Bob says something that keeps me reading. He provides the perfect mix of comic relief and truth, the ultimate jester who tells me the Emperor is naked, which is what a side kick is for.
Yay! I am so excited you’re going to continue doing polls. I love polls.
Anyway, it was sort of a toss-up between Jason from Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita books and Simi the Demon. But in the end, I just had to vote for Jason. 
It’s not like Simi needed the help anyway!

Jenks gets a BIG first place vote from me. He’s a hilarious, caring, brave and kick-a** pixy! Kim Harrison’s Hollows series just wouldn’t be the same without Jenks as Rachel’s back-up and friend. That being said, I’d also like to give props to Bob the Skull and Pam the Vampire.
So many excellent choices, but I had to go with Jenks. He’s one pixy with lots of attitude, and the skills to back it up. Although, I am intrigued with man-eatting slippers???

I voted for Jenks, although it was for his unfair advantage- his awesome family! If he wins, he’ll have to first and foremost thank his lovely wife for keeping his tiny butt, and the tiny butts of his 10,000 kids all in line.

Simi, Jenks, Jason, Pam or Jim the newfoundland??? How gut wrenching is that??? Each is the perfect sidekick in thier own way. I had to go with Simi though, one bc I’m very good friends with Simi-Kimi and two who else has a detailed shopping list for bbqing just about anything and gives out pot holders for Christmas. Bob it is; although I have to admit my impression of him was coloured a little bit by the TV series, I was intrigued by him long before that.
As much as I enjoy Jenks, it’s no contest. Simi is by far the best sidekick. Who wouldn’t want to be her or hang out with her. There is never a dull moment and of course I love everything Sherrilyn writes. I sent her assistant a link to this page so she can check it out.
Hard to pick between Bob and Jenks as I wanted to see both of them on the poll. I went with Jenks but I love them both. They are both funny and important to the stories.

I just had to share this on my twitter, facebook and livejournal (RaonaidLuckwell, Rachel, and Morriga). I’m gonna try to make something on my blogger.. but first a bath to cooool down.
I had a hard time deciding between Jenks and Jason, but ended up voting for Jason. I am a big LKH fan, and the character of Jason has transformed and matured in a big way over the course of the series. I really like that the one thing has never changed, is his loyalty and friendship with Anita. He will stand by her side no matter what big bad is lurking, and that makes him the best kind of side kick.
I voted for Jenks. I also love Simi and that waw my 2nd choice with Pirate coming in 3rd.

I love the Simi. She’s great, I’d love to be her anyday. Anyone who annoys me I could fry up, douse them in bbq sauce and eat them. Then shop like a demon till my best Akri in the world takes my plastic money away from me because I have too many sparklies and not enough space for them.

Wow, this one was hard! I love a lot of these sidekicks! I had to vote for Bob, though, just for his vague nuaghtiness. That and it’s hard to be a sidekick when you can’t get out of the cellar, but he manages.
I love them all and I think I know who will win, but I am still voting for Maggie.

I’m not going to lie, this has been my hardest vote to date. I LOVE Jace and Jason. They have everything a sidekick needs. Strong, all ways there for his herion, funny, and did I forget sexy. I sucked it up and voted for Jace after much soul searching. Jace is one of my favorite male characters, I just get him…I don’t know.

I chose Jenks because (of the series I have read on the list) he seems to be the most influential/important to his book of the sidekicks listed.
Jim, of course! He has the best one-liners, wit, and a truly beautiful visage when he’s in Newfy form. Jim was my first sidekick and he’ll always hold a special place in my heart. How many other lower-level demons do you know who like to go on “walkies”??

I really like Jace, in Rachel Vincent’s series. He’s just one of my favorite characters and I hope to see more of him in the next books to come.
My vote goes to Puff & Fluff, they are without a doubt the most unique characters coming or going. Their exploits are legend and I look forward to reading many more. The little darlings are just to cuddly for words. They get my vote.

Jace and all his innocent adorablness has my vote but simi is a close second. Poor little demon is surrounded by gorgeous men and still freaks over travis fammel. HAHA! But I can’t by pass a hunky werecat..
OOH this was a toughie. First reaction was to vote for Jace because he and Ethan are to die for. But then I thought about it and I don’t consider Jace, nor Ethan sidekicks. So I really can’t seem to vote for them as my favorite sidekick when I don’t seem them that way. They’re just other characters in the book that interact (in hilarious ways) with Faythe.
So while I wanted to vote for Jace, but couldn’t because I don’t see him as a sidekick, I went with Jenks from Kim Harrison’s the Hallows series. Jenks is more of a sidekick/partner and he is hilarious. Especially with all his quips about Tinkerbell, even though I love Tink, too!

I like Bob and I love Pam, but the first sidekick I thought of to win was Jenks. So, I’m gonna have to go for Jenks. He works so hard at it, he deserves to win.
And might I just add that I don’t know several of these side kicks but, more than any mention of the main characters, this forces my hand. I am now going to HAVE to find these books so I can meet such intriguing characters!
This was VERY difficult! But it seems no one loves Fluff and Puff as much as I do - but I had to go with Simi but F & P, Jenks, Pam, Jim, and Bob should all be in first place along with Simi. Bit I can’t help it - I keep looking for my very own pair of bunny slippers!

I would most definitely have to say, though it is a BIG toss up for me between Simi and Jenks, have to say Simi. She is a very volatile character who also likes her creature comforts like eating her enemies with copious amounts of BBQ sauce. Her love for things that sparkle and jewels do not (but come close) to rivaling that of her instant defense of those she is commanded to help. Her personal feelings are set aside and she does what needs to be done, in defense or offense. Even if she does give too much info on the side, which is yet another character sidekick aspect that makes her so well-loved! In all the stories she starts in, Simi shows her own personality (like meeting her family, then arguing about sharing space with them, that was funny!), so she is not only a sidekick but an integral part of how the whole story develops. Certain things she says or does in one book, affects the outcome of the next upcoming books, not just the one that is being read at that moment.
