Hotelles by Emma Mars

Hotelles: A Novel by Emma MarsAnnabelle thinks she has it made when David Barlet proposes to her. All of her worries will go away. All she has to do is keep her dirty little secret from him. Annabelle was previously an escort. But little does she know that David is keeping a few secrets of his own.

Annabelle finds herself caught between David and his brother Louie, who have competed against each other all their lives. When she starts receiving clandestine notes and keys to hotel rooms from Louie, she finds herself between a rock and a hard place. She does not want her secret to get back to David, but Louie is awakening a side of her that she did not even know existed.

I had high expectations when I started this book. The first chapter grabbed my attention. But, for me, that was probably the best part of the book. Annabelle seemed wishy-washy and unsure. As I read the book, I could not decide if she truly loved David or if she was with him because he could do things for her. Maybe she was not that shallow, but it seemed that way. Her mother was sick, but she seemed to forget that fact as she got caught up in her love triangle with Louie and David.

David seemed very reluctant to share parts of his past, despite the fact that he was going to marry Annabelle. And Louie just seemed to want what his brother had. Overall, I was really disappointed reading Hotelles. But, if you are looking for something steamy, then you may want to pick up this book.
