Fall From India Place by Samantha Young

Fall From India Place (On Dublin Street) by Samantha YoungAfter a traumatic event five years earlier, Hannah Nichols was getting her life back on track. She had a job she enjoyed, a loving family, close friends, and yet Hannah felt isolated and alone. No one but her father knew the whole truth about what had happened to her, though the family had offered plenty of love and support during that time. Running into Marco D’Alessandro again instantly took Hannah back in time to their one night together, and how he left her alone and helpless. Hannah has to decide if she can forgive Marco and move on, or if she will remain stuck in the heartbreak she had been feeling for five years.

Marco D’Alessandro had regretted the way he left Hannah five years earlier, but he was afraid she would reject him if he tried to contact her. When he ran into her at a friend’s wedding, his heart soared, but Hannah was wary and unsure about trusting him. Marco went to great lengths to win Hannah back, showing up at the school, dropping by her house, and just when he thinks they will get back together, she discovers his secret and rejects him yet again.

Hannah shows her courage by continuing to move on with her life, even though she is still emotionally fragile and not over the trauma of five years earlier. Marco is also courageous and determined in the way he pursues Hannah, not knowing the full extent of the damage done when he left to return to America.

Fall from India Place is full of drama and roadblocks, and the reader wonders if they will manage to work through all the baggage they both carry. I love the family support evident in the story, and appreciate the love between the characters that simply pours off the pages. I am looking forward to reading the other books in Samantha Young’s On Dublin Street series.

About Mary

My name is Mary, and I’m a serious book junkie, with a large personal collection of reading material. I’m fascinated by ghosts, the paranormal, and true crime stories. I love discovering the possibilities in the next world and am curious about the reasons people do what they do in this one. I’ve been reading since the age of 3, and always have a book or two or three going. I’m an elementary school substitute teacher, and I always have a book or two in my “bag of tricks”. My new favorite is “Frog in a Bog”. My husband and daughter do not share my passion for books, and secretly think I’ve gone over the top with my collecting and reading habits, but I firmly believe there are worse habits I could have!
