BBB: What real-life inspirations did you draw from for the world building within your book?

MM: Well, the book is based on accounts from various people, so most of the framework was already in place. Living with my Grandfather, who suffered with dementia, was certainly an influence, not only in seeing how it affected him, but how it affected others around him.

JR: I think I’d go with a giraffe, but have no real great reason why. They’re just pretty and tall. And have you seen their eyelashes? Yep, I base my decision on length of animal eye lashes. That’s normal, right?

LM: Actually, I feel like I’m sort of a reporter standing on the sidelines, watching all of this go down, and getting to take notes while it does. That, or an omnipresence like a ghost who views all but never intercedes.

SK: It was a shock, to say the least. I remember how exciting that day was. I never thought it would happen, as I never truly imagined myself being a published author. I kinda just fell into writing and decided to see if my work could be published — so still to this day, it’s all very exciting for me.

BBB: What real-life inspirations did you draw from for the world building within your book?

LD: Hmm…I write mostly paranormal so most of my world building comes from my head. But there are a few things that inspire my wild imagination. Music is a big one and inspires me in almost every stage of writing. The others are movies, books, and research (aka getting lost on the web *grins*).

FS: I was very excited and I was very naive. I was thrilled of moving into the next step of the world of publishing, (self-publishing at that time) yet I had no idea of the hard work and heartaches self-publishing would be personally.
