BBB: What punctuation mark best describes your personality? Why?
TK: Definitely a question mark. I’m curious how the world works and why people do what they do. I know that’s what led me to write fiction and, particularly, to write fiction about racing. I first encountered racing because a company I worked for started sponsoring a team and needed extra hands at the track. I didn’t know anything about it, and I was curious. That set my whole author journey in motion, because I was so fascinated by what I was learning and experiencing that I had to share it with others.

BBB: If you could go to the past or future, where would you stay and why?
SIH: I’m not sure how I feel about the idea of being a tourist in the past; I think I’d be much too tempted to try to change things, and if you’ve read as many time-travel books as I have, you know how that always turns out! But I admit I’m fascinated by the code-breaking and misdirection operations run out of Bletchley Park during the Second World War, and it Read More »

BBB: If you were to write a book about yourself, what would you name it?
JL: Geek Girl. No, wait: Face In A Book. (Honestly, I’m surprised any of my school teachers even knew what I looked like.)

BBB: If you could be a Disney character, who would you be and why?
NC: I’m not actually a big Disney fan, but I am a huge Star Wars fan, and I guess that counts now. So can I be Han Solo, please? I fell in love with Han at a very impressionable age and never really recovered. And I always wanted to be a space pirate!

BBB: What’s your favorite love story? (movie or book)
LD: Definitely Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. It’s a book that I never get tired of reading over and over again. Another favorite of mine is Strangers in Paradise by Terry Moore. If you are a fan of comic books (especially indie comics) then definitely check it out.

BBB: Choose a movie title for the story of your life.
AP: My Movie would be, Mr. Holland’s Opus. It’s a story for anyone who has had to postpone their dreams because life gets in the way. #storyofmylife

Today Suzanne Lazear interviews Tiana, High Queen of the Otherworld.
SL: Queen Tiana, would you like a chance to tell your side of the story today on the ballroom fire?
QT: Oh, so horrible, isn’t it? And such a lovely ceremony, as well. I did what I could to help, after all, my sons were there. I do hope they find who did it. Read More »

BBB: If you could eliminate one thing from your daily schedule, what would it be and why?
LS: Driving. I wish they had teleportation machines. I’d be the first in line to try one out. I think driving can take up a lot of time when you have to run errands or when I drive to work. Wouldn’t it be cool to just step through a portal and blam! You’re where you need to be in a matter of seconds!

BBB: What cartoon character best represents your personal philosophy?
MBC: I’m afraid that I’m a bit like the Roadrunner-speeding along, doing my own thing, then stopping to mess with someone for fun . . . but only if they try to put a roadblock in my way.

BBB: If you could be a pair of jeans what style would you be? Why?
KM: Wow! Totally took me off guard! Not the question I was expecting. I would definitely be a pair of relaxed boot cut jeans. Nothing that would cling to you or make you uncomfortable. I’m pretty low maintenance. The kind of person who can get up and go. That’d be me!

BBB: What is the strangest thing you ever did to research something for a story?
SJH:
J - This really has nothing to do with research but not long after I joined Sisters in Crime, I was wearing a SinC tee shirt and waiting in line at the post office. Someone touched my arm and asked if SinC was an organization for ex-cons. I had never thought what Sisters in Crime might look like to an outsider before that.

BBB: If you were to create a slogan for your life, what would it be? (Example: Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow, we all die.)
SZ: Keep moving forward. I’ve taken a lot of hits and falls over the years, been knocked down many times by difficult life events, and the important thing is to keep getting up and moving forward. It is an incredibly hard thing to do sometimes, but it is the only way you are going to become the person you want to become and honor those who believe in you and love you.
