This novel blends action, suspense, adventure, sexy romance, an exotic foreign locale, and the mysteries of the past into a thoroughly enjoyable story. Fisher pens a quick-moving tale that does not shirk on characterization or plot as it reaches a satisfying conclusion.

Lydia and the Draca by Louisa Kelley

This fun romp through the imagination of Louisa Kelley is a great example of an effortless story; while I’m sure it took time and energy for the author, the end result is certainly an effortless trip for the reader, in the most enjoyable sense! Read More »
Wednesday’s Child - Marked by Tears by L. Shannon
This brief tale starts out by telling the reader all about what’s going on…but it rarely simply pushes the reader directly into the action. The author uses that same unfortunate distancing technique till the end, which makes for a less than invigorating read. Demon Kry’n and human Jane have a powerful attraction to one another and a passel of problems standing between them and both abundant sex and true love. While they overcome their obstacles after a fashion, it is difficult to muster up enough compassion for these poorly-drawn characters to really care. Read More »
Flames on the Sky by Linda LaRoque
This book’s premise is tantalizing: a gorgeous turquoise necklace that holds a dangerous past; a curious woman thrust into the middle of this mystery; a very sexy Native American park ranger; time travel; spooky prophecies; the ancient Anasazi people of Chaco Canyon; and, of course, the endlessly breathtaking landscape of the American Southwest. The Caretaker by Gabriella Lucas
Nikki Quinn is a fighter. Surrounded by personal chaos and watching the life of her best friend fall apart, Nikki manages to struggle onward through a mystery swirling around a haunted house, very real paranormal activity, and reincarnation. Drawing on a re-interpretation of ancient Ireland and the bravery of the people who lived through dark times in its history, this engaging, modern tale is told in first-person. Read More »
Full Moon in Virgo by Dawn Madigan
Outcast Gypsy witch Aniki Sándor and werewolf FBI (magical division) Agent Rick Spade are definitely going to end up doing the horizontal tango, and how—that much is made immediately clear in the opening pages. Both characters are hotter than hades and have strong personalities that, along with the simple yet deft details put in by the author, make them interesting reasons to read this sexy novella. With the addition of the Romani witchcraft and sufficient plot tension to hold interest, this story explodes into a great start. Read More »

Seduced and Enchanted by Stephanie Julian
Rosie Bianchi is a children’s librarian who’s bored with her life and a little sick of being average. When she (literally) runs into Rio de Feo outside the local lunch spot, however, all that changes.
Suddenly, she’s thrust into a world where beings she had no idea existed are out in full view. She’s introduced to linchetti and other members of the Etruscan magical races, and finally finds out the truth about her godmothers, and herself.
I’m giving Seduced and Enchanted 5 tombstones. The characters were incredibly well developed, more so than I expected, with the story only being 120 pages long. I especially loved Rosie’s character, with the way she seems so quiet and reserved, but has this hidden sex-animal inside her. At one point, I had to put the book down, because I was blushing- something that I rarely do.
The author did a fabulous job with this one, and I’m definitely going to have to search out more from her.
