Tabian lived the life of a servant sold to Lord Mabot at a young age. All her life, she wanted to escape the keep, to no longer have to serve Lord Mabot. One day, she finally does it; she escapes into the Darkwood. Nobody dares to go there. It is the place where the supernatural hide and everyone fears. She asked a forgotten God for help and got more than she asked for.
Things became too real for Tabian then. She no longer wanted to hide in the Darkwood. She was afraid of the place and all the secrets that it held. She called upon the Old God Roburis and did not believe he was real after all, like he was all just some part of a dream.
Anyone can relate to Tabian. Everybody wants to escape their life at some point or another. Once they escape, it becomes real and strange. They no longer know everything and become terrified of that. She, like most people, went back to see if that was really what she wanted, then she remembered why she left. She lost her fear of Darkwood and embraced it more than before.
This was a great read to which many people can relate.
