It seems that this is the year of Alice. Tim Burton’s great film has hit DVD and Ora Le Brocq’s fantastic erotic fantasy has hit bookshelves.
Although I have been a fan of Alice in Wonderland for most of my life, I have to admit that this book is by far my favorite take on the timeless classic.

Wow. I have to admit I was not sure what to expect when I picked up this book, but I absolutely loved it.
Chandra Walker lived a pretty normal life - worked at the mall, had an apartment, nothing to exciting. That is right up to the time she meets Zach and David and the rest of the pack and her life gets turned upside down. Now she has to figure out who she is, who her mate will be, and keep the baddies from getting her in the process. Oh yeah, and do not forget the ancient Lord of the Forest who is there to watch her back.. To say the least, Chandra’s life just got really, really interesting.

I always love a good vampire story, so when this anthology came up for review, I jumped to read it.
“Like Part of the Family” by Jonathan Maberry is the story of a private investigator hired to look into the odd changes in a woman’s husband. This story was a great start to the anthology. It was descriptive, detailed and very well written.

“A Psychoerotic Noir Fairytale.” This is the most accurate one-sentence summary of a book I have ever read. Private Midnight starts out rather slow with an interesting, yet not totally impressive, main character in Detective Birch Ritter.

I cannot imagine going through life without feeling passion.
For Cassie, this has always been the case. She has a special talent that allows her to calm people. This is great most of the time, but apparently it makes building passion rather challenging. Well, that is until she meets Jared and everything she has ever known about emotions gets blown to hell and back. Read More »

I have an addiction to the current trend of modifying classics and fairy tales to the modern age, and Pan’s Legacy is an excellent example of this trend.
Pandora is the granddaughter of Peter Pan – yes, pixie dust and lost boys Peter Pan. But the story she was told was much different from the classic tale. I have to admit that I am really impressed with this character. She is strong and passionate and not afraid to go for what she knows is right. Read More »

Filled with fantastic visual descriptions, All Hallows Blood is a great read.
“Currently it looked run down, rotten from the inside, like an apple left to dry; wrinkled and dying, the goodness long gone.” That is just a small sample to the vivid visuals that fill All Hallows Blood. These vivid visuals carry over into the erotic scenes making the passionate passages jump off the page.

Love is complicated enough. Toss in a lifetime of steamy dreams, prophecies and serial killers and you have one heady mix.
Aria decided to hunt down the creature that killed her mother. Wow, is she surprised when she meets a real vampire. Aria is a stubborn, strong and endearing woman. Rialto is the steamy hot fellow everyone dreams of finding: rich, handsome and an honestly good person. He also has a dark side that, to people like me, is even more of a plus. Read More »

The Pirate’s Possession - Tru is a lady of noble blood, Ewan is a privateer. Both are on the run from London but neither of them realizes what they have gotten themselves into.
This short tale by Juliet Burns carries all the components of a great historical romance, packed into a small 70 pages. Tru and Ewan are both very endearing characters. Their passion is steaming hot and vivid while holding onto the soft flowing wordings that seem to fit with that era. Read More »

Dragons Wild is book one in a new series by Robert Asprin. Okay, I know how cliche can you get with an opening line like that, but it was a fun and interesting read. Having read hundreds of dragon-oriented fantasy and fiction books, it is always refreshing to find stories that have new and inventive takes on the dragon mythos.
