Well for me its easy Buffy The Vampire Slayer. At least from whats on the list. I’m suprised Dark Shadows isn’t on this list. Still odd that Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are doing a feature length movie. Just don’t see Depp as Barnabas Collins.
Had to give my vote to Reaper…. need a LMFAO show for some great television….

I went with True Blood. Was never really into Buffy and Charm. I liked the first two seasons of Angel, and never seen the rest. I was hoping they’d have Blood Ties..
I guess this could be a list of the best Paranormal shows of last 10 years. Because there have been American Gothic, original Kolchak The Night Stalker, Friday the 13th the series, a fox show in early 90′s called Sightings, and Forever Knight just to name a couple.

I have to go with Buffy or Angel.
After all this time, yes it’s still Buffy for me! No show has beaten it’s originality and wit, brilliant cast and story lines. Basically, its an all round sexy-as-*bleep* show that’s stood the test of time — for me anyway.

I voted Supernatural.Its my favorite show.I love Jensen Ackles.Started watching him back when he was on Days of Our Lives.
Though I love a lot of these shows, it’s definitely Reaper. It’s hard to beat the humor and intelligence in that freakish show!
It was really a toss up between Buffy and Ghost Whisperer for me since both of those are shows that I adore to pieces. True Blood I enjoy, but its not really something I re-watch (…well except for Eric in the tub…) and Angel is good, but not as good as Buffy in my Opinion. I was sad that Blood Ties wasn’t listed either-but then again I don’t want Buffy to duke it out with Blood Ties AND Ghost Whisperer!
I had to vote for Buffy, because that was the first place I could get my female empowerment and fantasy fix all in one place! (Well, there’s Xena, too, but that’s a different genre.)
I’d have to say the first few seasons of Buffy because I can still watch them today and really enjoy them. Although Moonlight’s Alex O’Laughlin is pretty damn hot!

I thought they got Zatanna’s origin down pretty good. Allot of folks in the comics community felt after they graduated high school they should have changed the name of the show to Metropolis, since that is were a majority of the show takes place.
I voted for Buffy. Joss Whedon set the standard for vampires with the general public (of course, my standard was set by Anne Rice, but Joss’ fit nicely with it!)
I have to vote for Supernatural. The best show on the WB in my opinion.
I’m also going to go with Buffy. I think that show is what really inspired many authors to go for it when it came to writing paranormal!

And X-files and Fringe? Hee hee.. Of those listed, I choose Reaper. I always enjoy that show. (and second the responder above who said Dark Shadows. I loved the remake better than the original, too.)
Oh this was a tough one. I guess if we’re saying “of all times” I had to go with my first and longest favorite Buffy. I mean I loved Moonlight and I’m really into TrueBlood, but both of those series have just started and don’t have the track record that Buffy had.
I voted True Blood. Loved the book series. Enjoying the show very much. I was never a Buffy fan and I liked Supernatural.

Wow! This was a really hard one to vote on because I love so many of those shows, but in the end I HAD to go for SUPERNATURAL because the Winchester boys are just so… awesome!
I had to go with Buffy…this was a very difficult choice for me. I own most of those shows on dvd…but in the end…The show I still watch over and over would be Buffy! Joss Whedon is a genius.
It has to be Buffy!!! Its the best show ever. Moonlight, Angel, Charmed, and Ghost Whisperer along with the new Santuary get an honorable mention. I miss my weekly Buffy…

I enjoy(ed) so many of those shows but the contests was over when Buffy was put on the list.
Well, my #1 wasn’t on here (No “Dark Shadows”?), so I went with my #2: “Buffy”. But it’s still “Dark Shadows” in #1 for me.

I voted for MEDIUM. Like the premise and the actors. It isn’t too far out there.
While I like to get me some eye candy in with the Wincester boys, and I really liked where Moonlight was going, Buffy was the original and the best.
I had to go with Buffy even though I love True Blood and Angel. Buffy started them all, in my humble opinion.
Okay, that was a super hard decision! ALL of my favorite shows were listed. But my first love, as far as paranormal shows goes, was Buffy and it’s what each new shows ia always measured against.
Can I just say that it’s wicked awesome that this genre is finally making it into the mainstream more than one or two shows at a time?
Oh, and a special shout out to The Listener, which wasn’t in the poll, but is shaping up to be a contender.
Okay. I agree with a few others…where’s X-Files and Fringe?? Or anyone remember Millennium? But maybe these shows are classified sci-fi. They should be considered paranormal as well, don’t you think?
Angel and his crew gets my vote. The original Nightstalker was a great show, and Blood Ties was another favorite I was sorry to see canceled; same with Dresden Files, Harry was growing on me.

Can’t really vote as I don’t watch all of them, but if you’ve got Dresden Files on the list, why not Blood Ties? That one was good, albeit short-lived!
Special Unit 2 is my new guilty pleasure, even though it is an older show. While Supernatural has the eye candy, I had to cast my vote for Buffy. Sarah Michelle Gellar AND Eliza Dushku. And Dark Shadows isn’t the only show mysteriously absent; there’s also Twin Peaks, Poltergeist: The Legacy, Wolf Lake, All Souls, Haunted, Brimstone, and many many more. Most of my favorite shows are the ones that ran only one or two seasons, when they should’ve gone longer.
I seemed to enjoy Angel just a bit more than Buffy, but enjoyed them both. It was a hard choice between them and Dresden Files, which I also loved.
More modern for me, lol. No not Dollhouse, True Blood’s more my cup of tea, or pint of blood, I should say!
This poll is sooooooooo cruel!! I love nearly all of those programmes, but in the end I have to say my heart belongs to Supernatural. Sam and Dean got my vote.
I had to vote Buffy. The writing is brilliant thanks to Joss Whedon and most of the other shows here (no matter how awesome they are, ie Supernatural, Charmed, True Blood) would probably not have been given air time if it wasn’t for Buffy setting precedence. I do have to mention the greatness of Firefly, X-Files, American Gothic and Carnival.

I voted for Charmed. I love many of the other shows, but Charmed wins.
Supernatural. The cliffhanger endings are killing me at the end of the season as I have to wait for each DVD set to be released before seeing what happens next. It has everything I enjoy. Monsters, good story, humor, creepiness, mystery and elements of surprise. Then add on the fact the “eye candy” factor of the car and certain actors and how can I resist? Even the soundtrack usually rocks (Dean’s taste in music is awesome). Managed to hook my disapproving husband after 20 minutes into the first pilot episode (now he is worse than I am on waiting for the DVDs). I haven’t had a show like that in a long time though the last season of Angels was close and Heroes on the first season. The others I can like, but Supernatural beats them in my heart.

Even though most of you voted for Buffy (ugh!), I still like and respect you. I had to give it up to True Blood, but kudos to those who remembered Dark Shadows and American Gothic.

Buffy’s classic, so it’s cool that she’s winning so far. Just b/c I voted for True Blood doesn’t mean I’m upset about that winning so far. Since I have 4 shows that I absolutely love, I’ll be happy with any of them winning!

Moonlight for sure. To bad it’s producers were ahead of the times. If it came out now with the Twilight and True Blood craze it would never have been canceled so soon. Same for Dresden Files. Wish the producers would consider
reintroducing theses shows. Hey,producers!! look at the money you could save developing a new show, yeah you might have a hard time getting the same actors, but why not recycle and reintroduce those shows that were loved by those of us who were also ahead of the pack!!
I loved Charmed! Had to vote for that although I must say I am seriously bummed that Medium got cancelled.
Absolutely had to go with Angel. Buffy may have been the first, but the stories with Angel were simply great, and I think David Boreanaz really showed his acting chops, especially while playing Angelus.
Love True Blood and am really enjoying the departure from the books this season-gives Sookie readers something to watch for and to conjecture about in between episodes (and books).
That being said, I was faithfully devoted to Forever Knight.
OOO-weee! this is a hard one. But i have to go with Supernatural. Although I watched allof buffy, charmed, angel…..but supernatural has been actually scray at some points. plus it has the “ohio” factor built in. A guy who works onthe show is from here and one of the episodes was based on somethingthat happened here. As far as i know-Buffy never came to Toledo…LOL

I watch(ed) all these shows except True Blood because I don’t have cable. (My brother taped Dresden Files for me. Big Jim Butcher/Dresden fan. Sorry show was canceled.) It’s hard to pick one because some of the shows had great seasons and not so great seasons. The last season of Angel was fantastic. I really tried to like Reaper and Moonlight but they never really caught my interest. Dollhouse either, but I’m still willing to see what happens.
I liked Blood Ties too, saw it online. Someone else remembers American Gothic. Boy, that was creepy (in a good way). Gary Cole just reeked EVIL.
So, if I had to pick just one, I’d go with Buffy for 6 pretty good seasons (and one not so good)and for being successful enough to spawn so many other paranormal shows. I loved those little add ons that the writers would put at the end of some of the shows which shocked or amused.
Awesome poll! Ok so its either, Heroes, Ghost Whispherer, Moonlight, or Medium. I agree with the few people who said that Moonlight was ahead of its time. It would be way better than True Blood if it was still on. And Trueblood that girls space between her teeth annoys me soo bad that i will not watch it. But i went with Ghost Whisperer!

I had to vote for Supernatural. It is easily the best show on the CW today, and the leads- Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki- are smokin’ hot!
Have to go with Buffy, followed closely by Angel. For me, Buffy was the beginning of it all. I had loved reading horror novels (Stephen King and such), but was usually disappointed by the movies/TV shows in the genre. Buffy changed all that, with Joss Whedon proving that it was possible to have a high quality product and still be horror or paranormal. I still miss it, and nothing has quite measured up to it. I am thoroughly enjoying the current popularity of paranormal fiction!
Of all time?? Wow, I voted for Buffy mostly based on it’s longevity and my thing for James Marsters. Where was the incredible yet short lived American Gothic or X-files, Dark Shadows, Millenium etc. So many choices really - so many splendiferous leads!

Since I’ve not watched any of the others, this was easy for me-TRUE BLOOD.
I should have said why. I have Medium and Supernatural on DVD, I never missed Buffy, Hereos is so new and cool,True Blood is sexy and scary. but Supernatural has it all - hot boys, hot music, cliffhangers, a little bit of comedy thrown in here and there (Those pop-culture references crack me up!) So there you have it- SUPERNATURAL for the win!!
Although I love all those shows, Buffy is who I voted for, because Whedon is brilliant and it was a groundbreaking show supernatural wise

I’m disappointed in the available titles for ALL TIME favorites. I would have liked to see Twin Peaks and X-Files on the list. My favorite all time paranormal show was Twin Peaks. Loved the story line, acting, suspense, and eerie quality of the show. Of the options available, I voted for Ghost Whisperer. I think I would like to have the ability to speak with ghosts and help them. Interesting.

I’ve watched and enjoyed most of the series posted so was hard decision but I voted for Moonlight :).
I enjoyed Dark Shadows as someone mentioned earlier and Kindred the Embraced was one of my absolute favorites as well that is not listed.
True Blood. The director Alan Ball is staying pretty true to the basic story line by Charlaine Harris, but adding new and interesting twists. The acting is getting better, so it appears that the actors/actresses are getting comfortable in their roles and settling in. So far, very good show!

Where are X-Files and Twin Peaks? True Blood is okay but the books are so much more fun (where is Bubba?) So I have to go with Buffy.
I really am loving True Blood and I’m a total Joss Whedon whore (ummm I mean fangirl), but I think Supernatural is my current favorite because it’s the perfect blend of Drama /Relationship building between brother’s Sam & Dean and Scary thrills of the week with each various case they take on. This series has built a nice storyline to follow throughout it’s season’s and I can’t wait to see what those sexy brother’s go up against together next!
For me it’s pretty easy, Buffy. It’s had it’s weak moments and there are several other great shows listed, but Buffy is what got me in to the genre in the first place, and I still enjoy re-watching epsodes I’ve seen many times before, so it was the only show I could really vote for.
Yep Supernatural edges out Buffy just because Dean Winchester is that awesome.

I voted for Buffy because I was obsessed for years over that show. My new favorite is True Blood and Fringe. Fringe has Pacey in it from Dawson’s Creek and he is hot..lol!!
I love many of these shows! Buffy, Charmed, Moonlight…but I had to go with Charmed. They needed my support and Buffy was doing alright by herself. I can’t wait to go find some of those other shows to start watching!
This was so very very hard, I loved both Buffy & Angel, & am really getting into True Blood (prefer the books though), pity Blood Ties & Forever Knight weren’t on the list, but in the end I voted for the Dresden Files, Just loved Harry.

I shall always and forever love Moonlight and will be hestiant toward CBS for taking it off the air. It was an incredible show and changed my life.
I voted for True Blood. It has it all, sex, action, romance, comedy, drama and the acting is the best I’ve seen in a long time. The direction and the writing is spot on. And it’s created by Alan Ball and based on the books by Charlaine Harris. Can it get any better than that?

I went with True Blood, though I heavily enjoyed Charmed and Angel as well.
I love the show’s sense of humor and the fact that there’s always so much going on. I’m so bummed I have to wait two more weeks for a new episode :(.
There is a fair amount of deviation from the books starting during the second season leaving room for a great deal of surprise. It’s entertainment at it’s finest.

This one is hard. My favorites would be Kindred and Blood Ties, neither of which didn’t last long enough. Loved Forever Knight and who doesn’t love Adrian Paul as the Highlander.
From the ones listed, it used to be Buffy, but the last few seasons just weren’t up to par, and I haven’t gotten a chance to see True Blood yet, which I hear is better than the books, thank goodness ( the books just didn’t grab me). So I’m going to have to go with a current fave, Heroes.
Rocky Shields, Thanks for remembering American Gothic. I worked as a costumer on that show. I think more people would have remembered if it we hadn’t gotten canceled. There were so many more places to go. An insider note….. the future, unfilmed episodes would have had some flashes back to anti-bellum days and Sheriff Buck of course would have been the same person, because he was really Satan, but the other characters would have had ancesters that he tormented in the past. We had some great scripts we never got to.
And I almost forgot about Witchblade. Yancy would kill me.

This was a difficult choice….I adore Buffy and I own the boxed set so I can watch whenever I want….but now there it True Blood. Having visuals of the characters and anticipating who will play the upcoming characters has made this my favorite.
Note to Anne- hope this doesn’t spoil his evilness for you….Gary Cole would do Sheriff Buck as Greg Brady (from his Brady movie) between takes. He kept the crew in stitches.

I like True Blood. I almost voted Supernatural but their last season wasn’t that great. True Blood is way better.

Bloodties was a (short-lived) favorite of mine.
It was a toss-up between Buffy and Angel. In the end, I chose Buffy. Spike was in more episodes in Buffy. Got to love Spike.

I love Moonlight, Charmed, and Ghost Whisperer. Ghost Whisperer is really good but it is probably the lowest on my list and i think that if Moonlight would have lasted i would have stayed with it But Go Charmed!
Every time I try to vote in a poll, I get the message that I’ve already voted - so even though I couldn’t actually vote, I thought I’d at least voice my vote here. I vote for Angel - I loved that show - and close second, Dresden Files.
I went with Charmed because it was pretty much the only one on that list that I watched on any kind of a regular basis - though I definitely didn’t see all of the episodes. By the end, I’d pretty much lost interest.

Lots of Moonlight lovers! I like it! I’ve been watching it’s reruns on Scifi but I’m sad that they are not showing them in order! I want to finish the season and I’m mad that they canceled it. It’s a pretty awesome show.

Moonlight is #1 with me. The chemistry between all the characters with interesting stories in the film noire style makes Moonlight a show that keeps the passion for it high.
It’s very hard to choose - the only shows that I am and was into Supernatural and Moonlight.
But Moonlight won my vote - the talented actors/actresses that made the show alive, the chemistry between Mick St. John and Beth Turner, not to overly intense with the supernatural stuff, realistic, the show’s content - how it has action, romance, drama, and comedy all in one, the plot twists…
I was automatically addicted at the beginning and I’m still am!
Is Moonlight really that good? I need to check that one out, it’s getting some very positive feedback!
Charmed all the way, was the only one I made sure to watch every week.
There are so many to choose from but I chose Supernatural. It was hard because I’m also a big Buffy fan but the Winchester brothers are awesome.
Very hard to pick only one favorite as you had a lot of my favorites on the poll. But I ultimately picked Supernatural. Why? It’s a show that is never distasteful, always full of action, lots of secrets and surprises and features a huge bunch of paranormal creatures/species. With other shows you may find vampires, werewolves and the occasional odd species out but Supernatural keeps bringing on the surprises.
True Blood is my current favorite show, but I had to give it to Buffy. While True Blood has had 15 great episodes, Buffy managed to be awesome for 7 seasons!
Buffy was the best - she started it all but I sat and watched 10 hours of True Blood in one day… and it just keeps getting better! Book 9 rocked! Can’t wait to see more. True Blood best served at room temp - and Eric is hot!!
No X-Files? I can see you forgetting Dark Shadows because the show was on in the 60s-70s, but the X-Files?

I went with Charmed. I looovveee witches and I think the original cast was perfect. The story lines were cool, they were cool, that house was AWESOME!!
I would have voted for FOREVER KNIGHT, but since it wasn’t listed I had to go with Buffy. No hardship there. BLOOD TIES wasn’t listed either. I think it was a very good version of the Tanya Huff books.

Aw poor X-Files. I voted for Buffy, it was a lot of fun. I have True Blood on my way via netflix, I keep hearing such good things about it. Can’t wait to watch it.
Wow, for all the love Pushing Daisies got from the geek community when it was on the air, I’m surprised to see that it didn’t make the list. I also wonder if the Whedon vote is getting split here — the man should get *at least* a runner up prize for having three shows on the list!

As much as I love Buffy, Angel and The Dresden Files (more the book series though), my nod will have to go to Supernatural. ^_^

Blood Ties is my all time fav, except for (showing my age!) DARK SHADOWS! But alas, as neither is mentioned - I went with Buffy.
My problem with Blood Ties is how it is soooo not like the books. plus no HBO - whine boo hoo
As much as I love Smallville (believe me, beyond love), and I like Dollhouse alot and hope they picked it up for another season - I don’t thing they belong in the paranormal catagory really. As much as I liked Buffy, I think Angel was a better show. So, that is what I had to go with. : )

My favorite is definitely MOONLIGHT! I was hooked from the very first episode. This show had it all: action, romance, humor, drama, great music, great sets, great writing. The chemistry between characters was fantastic, from the friendships to the love interests! Alex O’Loughlin that played Mick St. John, the Private Eye Vampire, played the role to perfection! Never over-the-top! He could express so much with just the slightest change of expression! He actually made the premise believable! Check out the reruns on SciFi channel or the DVD’s if you’ve never seen it!
Well the one show that I would pick isn’t there. The X-Files, I don’t think there is a better show. There is also a new show Fringe, which is a little like X-Files. FBI’s, aliens, and so on. the X-Files used to do straight shows too. I really like this show too.
I think I have to vote for Buffy. Great Blood and Gore meaning not to much. the demons were cool.

I went with supernatural even though they really don’t make a great paranormal tv series anymore.. They need updates.. Y not turn a good novel series into a great tv series..Hell like Rachel Vincent’s or Particia Briggs’ not just sticking to one paranormal element. Add some love into it.. LOL that would be the day..

Supernatural or Heroes would be my second vote, but both are overthrown by Buffy. That’s the best show in entirety, in my opinion - not just paranormal.

Difficult, because I love several of these shows, however…had to give the love to Buffy. That show broke ground for a while new generation of paranormal geeks, and helped get a floundering CW off the ground & turn it into a real channel of worth. Buffy has the longevity, too, that the other shows don’t get to claim, if you look at the seven seasons it aired & the conitnuing interest with the Season Eight comics, the conventions, the musical productions based on Once More with Feeling, etc.
And I must point out…Dollhouse isn’t paranormal…exceptional show, I love it, but…it’s more scifi, guys. At least based on Season One.
I don’t think Smallville and Heroes fits in this category of paranormal TV. I relate with comicbook-style Superheroes differently than stories of ghosts, vampires, wolfmen, and so on. Maybe I’m just odd that way.
Also don’t see Dollhouse as paranormal. I think it has a LOT more in common with Firefly, Alias, and Battlestar Galactica than the other shows listed.
I’m surprised to not see Dark Shadows, Forever Knight, X-Files, and Fringe make the list of nominations.
However, given all that, I still go with Buffy.

I loved both Buffy and Angel, but nothing has ever moved me like Moonlight did. Fantastic cast headed by the scrumptious Alex O’Loughlin, great storylines bringing the vampire legend into the modern era, great acting; the show had everything. Shamefully CBS never gave it the chance it needed to succeed, but it will always live in the hearts of its millions of fans — we are still hoping for a movie, Warner Bros!
I watched all of them except for Reaper- So this was really a tough one.
I decided on Moonlight. I sure do miss seeing Alex O’Loughlin. Man, he was one hot vampire.
ok this was definitely the hardest poll ever. I watch 8 shows that are in the poll however i had to vote for supernatural. I mean it has jesen ackles and jared padalecki as the two main charachters dean and sam winchester. The show has comedy, romance, horror, drama and everything in between. It also has all the paranormal stuff you could hope for. I love this show and probably the one show that got me hooked into buying tv series on dvd. Supernatural wins my vote with Angel and Buffy in a close second and third.

Buffy, of course. I can’t can’t believe True Blood is doing so well. The first 3 episodes were good…but then it got lame and tame. I can only assume people who didn’t watch Buffy in the past haven’t gotten around to renting the DVDs, because the quality of Buffy is far superior to True Blood, no matter how hot Eric is.
Supernatural. i like most of the other shows but Supernatural is the only one i really love.

While I’m loving True Blood, Moonlight is now and will always be my one and only favorite Vampire series. Not a day goes by that some reference to Moonlight doesn’t cross my mind or touch my life. I have been forever changed at my core. And I wouldn’t want it any other way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are so many great paranormal shows and many good shows that it is hard to pick just one. I enjoy watching Medium, and Smallville but vamps definitely have the edge. True Blood is really a good show. Not quite true to the Charlene Harris Southern Vampire Stories but riveting non the less. My favorite has to be Moonlight. Alex O’Loughlin is a definite hunk and I can’t help but drool when he plays Mick St. John. It is just too bad that when the series got going, it got booted off television. I can only keep my finger crossed that cable will pick it up and continue where it left off.
Buffy was iconic and Joss Whedon is the bomb. I really like Supernatural- never miss an episode.
I’ve been reading Sookie Stackhouse for years and while I like True Blood and think Anna P is a very fine actress.
I don’t think that show, and Jason and all the rest are exactly what Charlaine Harris intended.
So I’m voting for Buffy.
I loved Buffy but True Blood is way sexier and way grittier so I voted for True Blood. I think I’m a little biased though because I LOVE Alex Skarsgaard.
I haven’t seen all of these series. I haven’t even heard of Dollhouse. Maybe it’s not on British TV yet. I like Ghost Whisperer, but I’ve got to go for Supernatural. Who can resist those guys?

I voted for Buffy because Buffy was the precursor to all the other shows on this list. If it weren’t for Buffy many of these shows would not excist. While many of these shows put their own unique twist on the supernatural, Buffy was the first and arguably the best. From the wonderful makeup on the vampires to the clever dialouge and sometimes dark themes, Buffy had it all. Qute a few shows do their best to imitate Buffy’s style and some do it qell, but nothing can beat the original.
Moonlight…I love that he messes up occasionally and dang, what a hunk!
There were so many that I like on the list…Supernatural, Angel, Buffy, etc. I ended up picking Charmed because it’s the only one I really stuck with throughout it’s airing & reruns. One’s not on the list that I like as well are Haunted (had that Lost guy in it) & Forever Night.
