Grouchy and his fellow survivors thought that burning the cursed apple tree would free Snow of her curse and release the zombie “horrors” ravaging the countryside. Of course it did not work, and now the sky itself is poisoned and pouring the curse down on everything. The water is contaminated and the skeletons are rising from their graves.
The group takes shelter in a cottage in the forest where they come across some more survivors. The wonders never cease as they meet Kane and Red who just happen to be werewolves. Queen Adara believes the answer to stopping the plague might lie in her castle back in Platessa, so now the group must figure out how to get ahead of Snow’s zombie army. The werewolves decide to come along since there’s a hint that their “blessing” and Snow’s curse might be related.
Rob E. Boley has written another great installment in his Scary Tales series. He keeps the story fresh and throws more great obstacles in the group’s way, but he also gives them the smarts to overcome. The characters interact well together, and there is drama and snarkiness in That Ravenous Moon . I am really looking forward to how this tale unfolds.
