True Maybank will do what she needs to in order to keep her family’s heritage-even if it means marrying a man that she cares about, but does not feel passionate about. However, when she picks up her wedding dress, she runs into the one man who could derail her entire future, Harrison Gamble. She still remembers spending her prom night with him. But, while she is still attracted to him, she loves Dubose Waring and will make a life with him. But she cannot help still wanting Harrison, just a little bit. Once Harrison lays eyes on True, he is determined to try and make her his, despite all the issues and despite the fact that she is about to walk down the aisle to another man.
I adored Sweet Talk Me. It was sweet, funny and enjoyable. True is stubborn, yet determined. Harrison is the bad boy from the wrong side of the tracks, or trailer park, as it may be. His determination to win True over, even as far as going to help her with her wedding plans, is amusing and admiring. I found Dubose to be a pompous and arrogant jerk, so I was rooting for Harrison all the way. True just wants things to be perfect so that she does not lose Dubose, or her home. So, she will do what she has to in order to please him and his mother. But in doing so, she is losing a part of herself.
Sweet Talk Me is a cute romance with a southern flair, which is not something I find in most of the books I choose to read. Since it was something different, I truly enjoyed it and found it to be charming. This is definitely a must-read for the beach this summer.
