Rowena Through the Wall by Melodie Campbell

Rowena Through the Wall: Expanded Edition by Melodie CampbellDr. Rowena Revel was talking with one of her veterinary students when she noticed the medieval warrior standing in the classroom. She instantly thought she was losing her mind, but when the warrior began visiting her in her dreams, she was even more confused. Alone in the classroom one day, Rowena saw the warrior reappear through the wall, but this time, he had brought a friend with him, and they both stood and stared at her, as if judging her suitability.

That night, Rowena prepared carefully for bed, just in case she met up with the warrior again in her dreams. Awakening in a forest, where the sun was orange and the colors were unusually vivid, Rowena believed she was still dreaming. Being accosted by a band of ruffians and then rescued by her warrior, Rowena discovered she was the only woman in the entire kingdom, and would be taken to her grandfather’s home, Castle Huel, for protection.

Rowena’s adventures in Land’s End, the kingdom beyond the wall, were interesting and exciting. Being the only woman in a cursed land made her an extremely desirable commodity, and she spent most of her time being stolen back and forth by various families in order to produce an heir. I loved her loyalty to family she had never met, and could easily imagine that a land with only men would be fighting all the time as a matter of course.

Rowena’s courage and intelligence showed through, even though she was considered a prize only for her breeding capabilities. Rowena Through the Wall definitely captured my interest, and I am looking forward to reading the next story in the series.

About Mary

My name is Mary, and I’m a serious book junkie, with a large personal collection of reading material. I’m fascinated by ghosts, the paranormal, and true crime stories. I love discovering the possibilities in the next world and am curious about the reasons people do what they do in this one. I’ve been reading since the age of 3, and always have a book or two or three going. I’m an elementary school substitute teacher, and I always have a book or two in my “bag of tricks”. My new favorite is “Frog in a Bog”. My husband and daughter do not share my passion for books, and secretly think I’ve gone over the top with my collecting and reading habits, but I firmly believe there are worse habits I could have!
