Roy is the High Priest for a cult of Cthulhu worshipers. They gather together to have orgies for the sole purpose of feeding the sexual energy up to the stars to Cthulhu. He has read the signs and knows the return of the Old Ones is at hand, the chosen vessel, Carol, has been found. Her only purpose is to carry the five pods that will birth the Old Ones, who will bring about the return of Cthulhu.
There is a group opposed to this cult called Tru Light, headed by Jessica. They all live in a huge compound, work in the compound, raise their children inside where it is safe, they do not leave unless they have to. They have also seen the signs and know the time is here for them to stop the return of the Old Ones. They will go to any lengths to keep it from happening.
The Old ones whisper to Roy that Damon Hutter, an ex neo-Nazi thug in his cult, is the one needed to abduct Carol, who is a stripper at a local club. Roy questions this, but does not realize Damon is also a chosen one who ends up falling for Carol and tries to protect her.
Carol gets abducted and taken to the water where unspeakable things are done in the name of Cthulhu. She feels like she is going insane but clings to one hope-that Damon will somehow rescue her.
Resurrection Child is a dark and twisted tale containing the return of some old Gods, the brutality of man, and the rape of the innocent. Lee Pletzers throws a lot of characters at you and this can get a bit overwhelming, but the central ones are the main focus. The story flowed well and kept me turning the pages. I found myself shocked at some of the story line, but it was in keeping with the dark tale that this is. Believe me, you will not know what is coming in this book.
