Evelyn spends her twenty-first birthday in Vegas. When she wakes up, she finds out she is married-to a rock star god. And she does not remember any of it. She wants to go on with her merry life and forget that it happened, but when you are married to someone famous, there is no way of avoiding the mistakes. Ev gives it a shot with David, but the relationship is too new and she knows too little about him.
David has never met anyone like Evelyn and hopes that she will be giving it them a chance. But he is not sure how to go about wooing her, when he is used to fans falling at his feet. But that is what makes her different. Will they be able to work through their differences and make a marriage that is lasting, or will it just be another fly-by-night wedding and divorce?
I really enjoyed Lick, and I found it extremely difficult to put down. Part of me wanted to smack Ev upside the head, but then I reminded myself that she was twenty-one. Marriage is a lot of work and even more so when you are married to someone famous who is being followed around by the paparazzi and groupies. Add to that the fact that she does not even remember getting married and that is a recipe for disaster.
David, on the other, hand comes with issues of his own. The overall story of Lick is intriguing and I enjoyed watching as Ev and David worked through all the factors working against them. The other members of the band were interesting and I look forward to learning more about them as the series progresses. Lick is an unexpected and refreshing entry in the genre of contemporary romance and I highly recommend picking it up today.
