Tina Clancy is out partying on a Friday night when all hell seems to break loose in the Zone. It’s already considered a freak area where the buildings glow blue, the local gargoyles move around, and the people seem to harbor some strange talents all due to the local Acme company flooding the area in the past with a chemical spill.
It seems the Acme company isn’t done terrorizing the neighborhood since on this night there are noxious pink and green clouds floating through the area from the warehouse. The clouds seem to be affecting older people or those that are ill by turning them violent, causing fights, and then making them comatose.
Acme’s employees are out on the streets gathering up the victims for who knows what purpose! Since Tina is a Daughter of Saturn and has a burning need for justice, this action gets her out in the danger zone trying to help all her friends. Even though Tina is officially a lawyer now, she won’t let a little thing like ethics get in the way when it becomes a race to collect her friends and find out what Acme is up to. And if she has to damn them all to hell, what will it hurt? It could hurt her since she knows nothing of being a Daughter of Saturn or her growing powers.
Damn Him to Hell is a good story. I find the Zone and its inhabitants to be funny and quirky and totally a place I would like to live. Tina is a funny girl trying to come to terms with her new life, and her interactions with her ex-boss Andre contain some nice sexual tension. She’s made some great friendships and will go to any length to keep them safe. Jamie Quaid writes a good tale and I’m so happy she imagined the Zone!
