I have not read the previous three installments and there are eighteen books total in the series. If you love the 1980s science fiction/fantasy novels, then surely A Cat of Silvery Hue will be your cup of tea. I enjoy fantasy and love action and violence scenes, and A Cat of Silvery Hue had these in plenty. What I wanted more of was the evolution of the characters, especially the main characters. I felt that I did not know them at all-how they thought or why things were done.
In this book America as we know it is gone, torn apart by war and greed. Lord Milo Undying One is a twentieth-century mutant who has been gifted with immortality. There are fanatics that go against the Horseclans. The fanatics are crazed homosexuals, which I did not care for, who are also religious fanatics. All in all I do not think the Horseclans are for me, but a must-read for fans who remember them from the 80′s.
