A Demon Does it Better by Linda Wisdom
Lili Carter returns to Crying Souls hospital in order to find out what has happened to her friend. While she is glad to return to Inderman because of her friends, her situation at the hospital is not ideal. The head nurse is a dragon-shifter, and the head doctor seems a bit shady. When he requests her presence in the asylum part of the hospital, she feels as if she has been thrust back to Bedlam.
However, a particular demon’s situation nags at her, and Lili will do what she can to help Jared out. The good doctor insists that Jared is beyond help and is dangerous to Lili. When he tries to prevent Lili from working with the demon, Lili knows that there is something going on and will do what she has to in order to get to the bottom of it. Hopefully, she and Jared will solve the mystery of what has happened to her friend and the other women who have disappeared.
This is another fabulous book by Linda Wisdom. Lili Carter is a fascinating individual. Jared is even more interesting, especially with his way with shadows. There is mystery and intrigue surrounding him, and the further I got into the book, the more I wanted to know what his whole story was.
The spark that leaps off the pages of the book between Lili and Jared kept me entranced. A Demon Does It Better has all the elements of a great paranormal romance: mystery, intrigue, romance between a witch and a demon, an exasperating familiar, and many more. This is definitely a book to add to your reading library. If you have not read other books in this series, have no fear — while there are references to some of the other characters, they do not play a huge part in the book, or at least not enough to be lost. I cannot wait to see what Ms Wisdom comes out with next.
