Sins of the Angels by Linda Poitevin
Alexandra Jarvis has to fight the ghosts of her past at every murder scene, and this case has been more gruesome than most. Too many bodies have been turning up in a short period of time with no leads on the killer. When she is assigned a new partner, Jacob Trent, things begin to get even weirder. Alex will have a tough time keeping her past from rearing its ugly head. Jacob Trent, otherwise known as the angel Aramael, has been assigned a task from up above: he is to hunt down his fallen angel brother and also protect Alex from him. However, Jacob wants nothing to do with the case or her, until he finds out that if he does not, the final battle between Heaven and Hell could occur.
The subject of the apocalypse is always an interesting subject, therefore I was utterly intrigued by this book. There is a lot to the characters in this book which made it all the more fascinating. Aramael has many layers to get through, especially since he is hunting his brother. I do not feel as if all of his secrets and past were revealed, which makes him all the more riveting. And the sparks that fly between him and Alex are bewitching. I know I held my breath waiting to see how a relationship between an angel and a human could happen. Alex has her own captivating qualities which despite her gruff demeanor, makes her vulnerable in the long run. Sins of the Angels is an enthralling start to a new series and I will be anxious to see where Ms. Poitevin goes from here. This is definitely a series that you must read!
