Changeling Dream by Dani Harper

****

James Macleod has been lost to his pack for thirty years. Over the years some have glimpsed his changeling self, but his human side was lost one night in blood and murder. His human wife and unborn child were killed by a man seeking the extinction of his race. After, Macleod became lost in grief and stayed in his wolf form, losing what made him human and prowling as a rare white wolf. Then along comes a young woman named Jillian Descharme, a rare veterinarian who wants to study wild wolves and provide them with a haven. Jillian is oddly familiar to both the wolf and the man, and Macleod cannot decide if his wolf or the man is more intrigued…

While this sophomore novel by Ms. Harper is set at a little slower pace, it is still remarkable! Despite the beginning, this novel is more about uplifting the spirit than arousing suspense. A man lost to his animal nature brought back to life by the intrigue of memory and the love of a woman who unknowingly loves both sides of his dual nature. But will Macleod realize what he is missing before he loses another good woman? Harper could end her series with this second book with the way it is written. But more Harper goodness is on its way and I cannot wait to see what direction it is headed in. Lead on Ms. Harper!

One Response to Changeling Dream by Dani Harper

  1. I was lucky enough to be able to read books 1 & 2 back to back in this awesome series. The only problem was waiting for the next book which won’t be much longer. If you enjoy a tightly written fast paced story, this is the ticket to many hours of great reading. Dani Harper has built a world that i’ll enjoy visiting any time.
I’m always a bit wary of the second book in a series that I’ve fallen in love with as there is often a let down but not here. If anything, book two was even more fascinating.
