With her life in shambles, Alexis struggles to find meaning in her day-to-day life. Her husband is missing, she cannot focus, and everyone who loves her is beginning to be concerned. The nightmares that are her constant companion begin to change in ways that disturb and frighten Alexis. Everyone is telling her it is time to move on, let Tristan go but deep down Alexis knows he is still alive.

Alexis begins to see things and decides it is time for a change of scenery and to get a grip on her life. The memories follow her and are stronger than ever, reinforcing her belief that Tristan is still alive. When Tristan suddenly returns the true battle for her life begins.

The personal struggles Alexis goes through are very strong and easy for the reader to understand and empathize with. I felt that some of them were a bit overdone, but not enough to make me put the book down. The agony was very real and I was very happy to see Alexis make it through her ordeal and be the stronger woman for it. A role model for any woman who has been to hell and back, Kristie Cook’s character shows us that if we keep our focus centered the end result is worth the pain and suffering to reach it.
