Blue Heaven By Jadette Paige

Blue Heaven was such a fun story to read. Jadette Paige introduces readers to a world where gods are reincarnated as human godchildren, one is the ruler at Heaven’s Seat, and the current godchild is…I can’t name him for he has promised his monks and Abbott never to speak his name for it would inspire fear and devastation. A mercenary, Stryver, has been granted his freedom if he finishes this one task: rescuing the godchild and taking him back to his master. Upon meeting this godchild he names Blue, he realizes that things just got a lot more complicated. Those blue azure eyes hold Stryver captive and make him want more, yearn for more, but he is a man of his word and believes he is saving Blue from assassins.

Blue has been drugged most of his life (to prevent him from reaching his full destructive potential). This new freedom is overwhelming and beautiful, dancing with lighting, fighting, lusting, running, aching. He loves every minute of it but can’t help but wonder whether Stryver is good or what his master wants of him. The two go through adventures that come to fruition at Master’s compound. There are twists, turns, and nice plot-lets that I hope are fleshed out more fully, Ayden’s especially, and we get to see what happens later on to the two. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Blue’s discovery of love and of himself; I was heartbroken over how he finds one of his past lives and is heartbroken that humanity is so cruel. The bedroom scenes were so well written and romantic that I found myself wanting to go get some coconuts… You’ll understand if you read it!
